Ocado can't call itself an online supermarket if it can't deliver eggs or tomatoes

No substitutes offered - how the hell could they have run out of all eggs and tomatoes at the Woking depot? They have offered £5 as an apology - that won't even cover the petrol costs of the round trip for me to go to the supermarket with two todders to get eggs and tomatoes... Given how long it takes me to do the order on their incredibly slow online website I should have just gone to Sainsbury's by car instead.

How far away is your nearest shop that sells eggs and tomatoes? Or are you driving a Hummer to use £5 in fuel to get there? Confused

I live in the sticks, way too far out to have supermarket deliveries, but could get to a shop which sells eggs and tomatoes for far less than that.

However YANBU to be annoyed at them for being out of stock of pretty simple itmes.

Don't use Waitrose - they are far far worse.

Local Co-op, local butcher sell those items OP! It would be nice though if the online companies could txt to say if something wasn't being delivered at all.

As they probably offer 10 different varieties of tomatoes and the same again in eggs, it IS amazing that they couldn't have substituted something for the varieties you'd orderd!

I emailed them years ago when they first started doing a delivery service to ask if they covered my area - they didn't bother to even reply to my email. Nice customer service....NOT

They give apology vouchers Shock.
All I got was a refund for the £13 worth of missing and damaged stuff. Of which, I might add, was the all important Toilet rolls [Grrr].

do you live in the country?

never had one single issue with ocado delivery

BaroqueAroundTheClock · 08/04/2011 08:45

hmm - well I don't order from Ocado very often, but when I have I've never had a problem with them.

However, I was reminded of this thread 20 minutes ago when my Ocado delivery arrived. Apparently they didn't have a single bag of carrots of any description in stock. Not one, I ordered 2 x 500g bags of carrots and they sent me done.

ARGHHH - I NEED the carrots this morning too
