to think I should be able to find a classic birth announcement template on the internet?

No added teddies, flowers, hearts, dolls, angels, scrolls etc required...

Just want to upload a photo of my newborn, print her name underneath and have it sent to me as a postcard x 50.

Yes, probably, but then would have to drag my newborn and 2 yo monster DS into an actual shop, and that's best avoided at present .

try photobox. they have some basic ones or you can design your own with photo and text.
