People always say they do this 'to get more traffic' and so the thread doesn't get deleted like in the chat topic.

I don't understand this though - surely most people look on the 'active conversations' list when looking for interesting threads to read, not the individual topics lists?

It used to wind me up so much i fantasised about tracking people down and doing horrible things to them with their pc, things that would make the surgeon trying to remove said pc, faint.

but then I convinced myself that it is no longerAIBU, but chat in disguise.

I think you are right hecate AIBU is chat, there is not much traffic in chat.

Although having said that it depends on who posts the original post.

I knew I would get the comment - "like this one" - and expected people not to agree with me, but mine is an actual question on reasonability. I just find it frustrating. Might be time to hide the topic as no one really cares whether I think they are being unreasonable or not .

I think it is just laziness, FAB, sometimes you want a quick reply (or just a reply!) and most MNers check out AIBU. I have to be honest, I don't look at Chat, purely because it comes at the bottom of my Active list, and the threads are usually dead by the time I get to them.

Would anyone have replied to this thread if it was in Chat?

why is chat at the bottom of your active list Bootilicious? Do most people have their topics displayed separately?

Mine are just a whole mix of different topics, except the ones that I've blocked, and are in order of time the last post was added. I assumed everyone viewed Mumsnet the same way, unless searching for particular subject matter.

YANBU - also I hate titles that don't really tell you what it is about - "AIBU to think that...." - to think what ffs? That the thread will be a waste of my click and reading
