I watched Up at then cinema and sobbed through most of the first 20 mins, my DD didn't shed a single tear. I had not that long lost my Gran, so think that had something to do with it. Watching it since, I still cry though! Absolutely beautiful film, definitely one of my favourites Grin

I know she miscarries and that bit is sad/moving - but she is the feisty one at the stArt with all the dreams and they just get crushed because they have to fix the roof and shit, but then after she dies the husband gets to all the stuff she wanted to do. Including having a parental type relationship. They do add a sop in at the end by her diary saying how her life with her husband was the real adventure, but I think that was put in to appease people. AND someone tried to tell me that she did get to fulfill her dreams because the diary represented her! Load of hogwash. Apart from all that I quite enjoyed it, esp the talking dog.

But that's the bit that makes me cry the most, that she was this vibrant little girl, full of life and that spirit just gets crushed out of her by the daily grind of domestic life. It's the biggest tragedy of all and it happens every day. Sad

I so agree about Up!, I really can't watch the first 10 minutes. Although it did prove to be a good thing when my DS (4) had a meltdown at the end of Where the Wild Things Are, when the boy goes home and the Wild Things are upset. First time a film affected him like that, I said, 'It's OK, it's just like when I watch Up!'.

Anyone seen The Piano? Tissue warning:

I cried at Nemo (in the cinema...) UP, Toy Story 2 + 3, Tangled, The Princess and The Frog and Pete's Dragon (in front of DS), Hollyoaks on a regular basis, and Kiss Kiss Bang Bang at university... My coursemates reacted to this by bringing me a pack of tissues for the next film...
