it's a gorgeous evening. dd2 (8) has been flying a kite in the fields with the boy over the road and two big dogs. dd1 (10) brought a friend home, walked to the sweetshop together and then went to play with the others. after a long winter involving far too much tv I was despairing that my kids would ever want to play out. to see them trot off, of their own accord, was just lovely.

Oh it's great isn't it? This week my 2 have been 'playing out' with the other kids in the street. They just hang about & kick balls & go on skateboards and they're in & out of their respective houses ... So good to see.

Sounds absolutly lovely for your children and you Smile Mines been out in the garden all day about to come in now but I'm sure she'll be out again tomorrow with her friends.

Yep it's brilliant Grin

I must admit I'd love just a quarter of my 8yr old's energy Envy

Yes - great- I wish kids round our way would do it! DD and her mate are walking to and from school on their own (8) at least, which is a start. I'd love them all to be playing out together til late in the summer evenings, but most dcs in our area are "too busy" for just messing about.
