to not understand why dss' school is giving money to football company

Children at dss' school are being asked to participate in a footballing sponsored event ie children to be sponsored to kick ball/play football. Half the money raised will go to a charity and the rest to the football company (they organise all the after-school football activities). I appreciate that this company is organising the event but am uneasy about basically having to raise money for a business.

I think its reasonable to ask the school if it is a business or a not-for-profit/charity type organisation.

You're not raising money for a business. You are enabling them to raise money for charity...that is the difference.

If the company was out of pocket each time, they wouldn't be able to raise anything.
