Hi im really sorry but i find i prefer rollercoaster. The people on there seem a bit more normal you crowd are off the wall sorry!

OP posts:
scottishmummy · 31/03/2011 21:02

but Irish isnt a race its a nationalty and culture so why are you on about racism?

AmAlwaysRight · 31/03/2011 21:06

And they say we're stupid

scottishmummy · 31/03/2011 21:14

what on earth are you on about?who says what?

Buda · 31/03/2011 21:18

Stereotyping how?

BitOfFun · 31/03/2011 21:23

I think AmAlwaysRight is interpreting the observation that Rollercoaster is not very intellectual with Irish=Thick. Whereas it was just a comment about the tone of the boards there, like lots of other not-especially-Irish sites like Bounty and Netmums etc.

scottishmummy · 31/03/2011 21:26

taking umbridge at a comment and trying to pin racism on it is trying too hard. and as i said Irish isnt a race its a nationalty and culture so why are you on about racism?

working9while5 · 31/03/2011 21:28

((whispers)) but they are a bit thick!

And I'm Irish and don't think that the posters on rollercoaster represent the intellectual state of the nation!

scottishmummy · 31/03/2011 21:30

Riiiight thats it settled then

ValiumSoltera · 31/03/2011 21:33

I like both. It's like having two sets of friends, one from university and one from school and you know that the two won't gel. You like both though.

I think on rc there's definitely a different culture. People boast about slack parenting and on mumsnet it's very different. eg, you gave your child a sedative on a 16 hour flight!? ABUSE!
One thing confuses me though, the standard of written English on rc is terrible, but so many RC-ers claim to be on mumsnet too. Do they pull it out of the bag and spell correctly for mn but they can't be bothered for RC?

ValiumSoltera · 31/03/2011 21:36

ps, you can so swear on rollercoaster. It's not an American site. I used to post on babycenter.com when I was pregnant and you couldn't even type Dick. As in my dad is called Dick. It wouldn't accept it!

scottishmummy · 31/03/2011 21:36

is there a scottish equivalent? weans world perhaps

femalevictormeldrew · 31/03/2011 21:37

What about Magicmums? Is that approved?!

spiderslegs · 31/03/2011 21:37

We're not as good as a rollercoaster? How odd. I hate rollercoasters. Are we are as good as bumper cars? Or waltzers. I went in a bloody terrifying ride last summer - because DD didn't want to go on her own. It was like little spitfires on the end of long poles that went up and down and round and round. I screamed like a banshee and embarrassed DD - she slunk off when it finished while I was being picked up and revived and offered hot sweet tea.

Jeysus Christ I nearly cacked my pants laughing. Thank you whoever posted this - I've lost your name as I copied & pasted & couldn't be arsed to go back & look but thank you. The finest bit of drollness I've read for ages.

spiderslegs · 31/03/2011 21:39

Ormirian t'was you - again, I thank you

ValiumSoltera · 31/03/2011 21:40

ps again, check out the dating and romance board and read scott1234's attached but looking thread if you want a laugh. That's not boring at all. Janeymackers. there are more men on rollercoaster, probably because the name of the site doesn't have mum in it. But they are all really annoying. I prefer that there aren't that many men here.

Barbie, we're on here and we're all there iykwim.... and I agree with you, the bar seems lower on RC, so how come we can't spot each other here? Do we disguise our 'thickness' on mumsnet? Wink

BoysAreLikeDogs · 31/03/2011 21:44

weans world

lol

party on, excellent*

*for you youngsters this is reffing the film Wayne's World, I'm not just typing random words

ValiumSoltera · 31/03/2011 21:44

magicmums is for rich mums, standard of English is better, they all claim to be size ten! rollercoaster is for the knackers. lol (that's acceptable on rc. lol) that's why I like rollercoaster fgs. I can't be worthy all the time. Sometimes I just wanna say, oh let me vote for your ugly baby "lol"

femalevictormeldrew · 31/03/2011 21:46

I am on magicmums and I am neither rich nor size ten. Although I live in hope...

ValiumSoltera · 31/03/2011 21:48

ah don't mind me. I'm on magicmums too. Occassionally anyway.

chipmonkey · 31/03/2011 21:48

Yes, Valium. You would never recognise me on rollercoaster. All I say on there is Dhrink, girls, arse, feck!

I think it's funny on rollercoaster how people start a thread about
Dr M*chael R*son in Holles St, any opinions? And you think Oh yes, Dr Michael Robson! What's that about?

I like the antenatal clubs on RC but don't like the parochial feel of it.

working9while5 · 31/03/2011 21:49

Isn't it more likely that you pretend to be thick on RC because otherwise you might express an opinion and be lynched.

"Tanks hun. I'll try that tonite. He do be fair screechin for de dodi!"

Go on. You know you want to!

Okonomiyaki · 31/03/2011 21:49

Roller coaster of luuuuuuuurve

Roller coaster, a ooo ooo ooo

ValiumSoltera · 31/03/2011 21:53

lol chipmonkey! your a laugh (did you see what I did there? Wink?)

ValiumSoltera · 31/03/2011 21:53

I bet you know who I am though Chipmonkey as I'm really careless and have omitted to construct two separate personas. Oh shit. lol.

chipmonkey · 31/03/2011 21:54

No, no, no Valium, you don't say LOL, you say hahaha! Tsk!
