Is this taking the piss or am I just a Scrooge?

I think I am a little U, and probably hormonal (32 weeks pregnant). We have a man in replacing our boiler, starting yesterday We showed him tea stuff and told him to help himself. I was working from home.

Mid afternoon, I came to make myself a cup of tea, offered him one. He said that we were out of milk (wd had most of 2 pints that morning) and half heartedly offered to go get more. I said of course I would go, which I did then made us both a cup before he left.

Fast forward to this evening- I get home from work to discover he has finished the entire 2 pints I bought yesterday afternoon and left about 3 teaspoons of milk.

It's not the cost- a few pints of milk is negligible. But I do feel a bit cheesed off that he didn't at least leave enough for a cup of tea for me. Especially as it's not like 2 pints of milk in tea in one day for one person is surely excessive for most people?

he probably had some cereal as well! thats where all our milk goes....

MikeOxstiff · 30/03/2011 20:18

The cheeky bastard

happyinherts · 30/03/2011 20:19

No, you're not being unreasonable. He is very selfish. He can see your condition and is being disrespectful.

Pagwatch · 30/03/2011 20:21

No. Yanbu
No one should use all the milk.

Is he back tomorrow?
If so say " help yourself but please go and get extra milk if you use all of ours. It isn't very nice not being able to make a cup of tea in the morning"

Leni75 · 30/03/2011 20:21

never mind you being pregnant, although he should be considerate to that too, its your house, your tea, your milk, when someone makes the offer you did, they don't expect that.....how did he find time to do any work what with all that tea making/drinking?

Bogeyface · 30/03/2011 20:23

He has had almost 4 pints of milk in 2 days on cups of tea?! That is excessive imo.

Has he finished? If he will be back, leave half a pint for him in the fridge and hide the rest at the bottom of the salad drawer!

Bogeyface · 30/03/2011 20:24

Oh, and bleach the loo.........eurgh!

FabbyChic · 30/03/2011 20:24

ha ha he obviously likes milk, a tad naughty to leave you next to none though!

Leni75 · 30/03/2011 20:24

i would go and buy some really shitty tea bags.......no scratch that, just hide the tea bags full stop, say you are out of them, tell him to get on with his work lazy fecker.

AccioPinotGrigio · 30/03/2011 20:27

Was he drinking the milk straight? Either that or he's having a lot of tea breaks and not doing much work. Get the 'nanny-cam' on him because he's probably taking a wizz in your kitchen sink as well. Grin

TidyDancer · 30/03/2011 20:32

Some people are just super-cheeky with things like this, and don't really know how to be polite about it. I have a friend who does similar things.

I don't know what you can do though....maybe just leave a single pint in the fridge at a time?

BlingLoving · 30/03/2011 20:38

Phew, I thought I was going to be told to stop being such a stingy cow Grin.

It's the principal, definitely. I agree- you never leave no milk.

I like the idea of not having any in tomorrow but dh has already headed to corner shop to get some. Plus, he is in our house alone all day - I don't want to piss him off. But dh is not here tomorrow so better make s note to buy some on way home otherwise I will be furious if I have to go out specially.

Put some lactulose (or worse) in the milk for tomorrow. Make him shit for Britiain, greedy bastard.

I always wanted to do that as a student when people would nick food out of halls fridges. They deserve a nice dose of the wild shites and an ringpiece like a goldfish's mouth at the end of it.
