For the last few months I have switched back to a totally nat one ~ by the end of the day (very close up ) I can tell lol !

Should they last all day ,or AIBU ?

I don't want to go back to blocking my pores with aluminium ... Confused
What are your views ?
crazy to worry about aluminium ...?

All my other skin-care is nat ( apart from soap) makes sense right ?

I tried these - when ttc after miscarriages. Read a book saying to cut out all the chemicals in your life. Have to say none of them worked and most of them ruined my clothes. Especially the crystal type ones on a stick.

Better to go without and have a mid day wash.

Salmotrutta · 29/03/2011 21:30

Well, do they claim it lasts all day? If so then YANBU - if not then I don't know Grin.

I'm all for aluminium me!

LoveLeonardCohen · 29/03/2011 21:38

I only use natural deodrant and I haven't yet found one single one that lasts all day, so YABU to expect a natural deodrant to last! I tried the crystal, Toms, Tisserand etc etc....Am going to try Tea tree one, I have heard the Dermalogica one is good but probably really pricey

lololizzy · 29/03/2011 21:38

i've tried loads without success..and am really not a v sweaty being...

CuppaTeaJanice · 29/03/2011 21:39

Are you using one made with natural ingredients, like 'forever living' etc, or one of those crystals that you rub in your armpit and end up smelling like a patchouli-burning tie dyed crusty?

The former should last all day, the latter......well frankly the smell of b.o is preferable anyway!

LoveLeonardCohen · 29/03/2011 21:40

What's 'forever living'?

Meglet · 29/03/2011 21:40

I just use them at weekends as I'm less stressed and sweaty on those days. Prefer the Lush ones or sometimes the Toms of maine sticks.

kittybuttoon · 29/03/2011 21:43

They don't work. Especially those rock things that you scrape your pits with (unless you are going for that skinless look) Get Mitchum. It lasts TWO days if you are in the desert or somewhere with nowhere to wash.

boobellina · 29/03/2011 21:44

Have been trying one of the Lush ones Aromaco it smells of patchouli so properly hippy sorry CuppaTeaJanice! Doesn't keep me dry which is most disconcerting after years of 'plugging' my pores but I don't pong at the end of day. I wear mainly black so have no idea about staining.

hocuspontas · 29/03/2011 21:46

Pit-Rok works for me but during very hot weather it might need re-applying.

RevoltingPeasant · 29/03/2011 22:04

Lush is definitely the way to go! They have several, not all of which smell like patchouli.

I use their Aromaco one and find it smells more like baking soda, tbh - it's quite neutral and I just wear a perfume 'over' it (the Lush vanilla one is fab).

Having tried the rocky scrapy one, Tom's, and various other weird concoctions, Lush is The One. Even converted DP who switched from Lynx (no, he is not 18 Hmm) to Lush.

It is Your Friend.

nectarina · 29/03/2011 22:10

I love the Tom's of Maine. although i might try out lush's if i can bear to step in through the door.

4FoxAche · 29/03/2011 22:13

I use pit-rock too.

I'm a very sweaty person unfortunately but this works for me.

LDNmummy · 29/03/2011 22:18

I use aluminium free Bionsen. I know too many older women who have had cancer in their armpits to use a normal one.

Bionsen seems to last fine for me and the roll on seems to work even better than the spray. I will be trying pit-rock next.

doley · 29/03/2011 22:39

Thanks for more nat ones to try :)

I am using Toms of maine ,and I have one called Crystal essence (of the rock company ) I am still in the USA ...I think I will try one by LUSH on my return !

Arm and Hammer make one here ,minus the aluminium but with triclosan (sp )instead Shock

There are so many here + on Amazon ~I was quite worn out just reading the reviews LOL!!!

I am thinking I am not unreasonable to expect others to get over my slight BO by the end of the day ... I have had no comments (you understand ) but I have been known to shove DH's nose in to my pit to 'help' out .

I live in a country where women quite happily stilluse scented Shock tampons !!!!!!

Thanks all .

Do Lush not do mail order in the US? Try www.lushusa.com/shop Just a thought to save your poor DH having to sniff your oxters!

oldraver · 29/03/2011 23:14

I have had a severe reaction to both Lush and Pit Rock. I've gone back to using Sanex. I loved the smell of the Lush one, so was disappointed when I got a reaction and was pleased with the Pit Rock as it did seem to stop me smelling

Shock @ scented Tampons... I noticed Asda started to put a 'smell' in the sanitary towels. I kept thinking whats that sickly sweet smell, then saw the new packet. I have an aversion to artificially smelling stuff

lololizzy · 29/03/2011 23:17

I love Lush but not their deo's, made me red and itchy for weeks after

PurveyorOfWoo · 29/03/2011 23:18

Most of them don't last all day. However I have recently been using the Forever Living Aloe Vera one (have a friend who sells them) and that has actually been OK. I'm not a very sweaty betty though.

When I was at work I used to carry a pack of wet wipes and extra natural deodorant, then if I felt I was getting a bit 'pitty' I'd go in the loos and have a quick wipe down and reapply. Still felt it was worth avoiding the aluminium though (especially when pregnant/breastfeeding)

bubbleymummy · 29/03/2011 23:30

Lush's products aren't all natural - check the ingredients. I use Tom's. It works fine most days. If it's very hot or I'm exercising I may need to reapply. We use all natural products - Aubrey organics mainly.

lololizzy · 30/03/2011 18:33

natural isn't always great anyway for sensitive skin as some products too harsh...the Lush one with patchouli gave me red itchy rings like ringworm.
