To be annoyed at this very rude woman

Was in my local coffee shop this afternoon, they have a rack of daily newspapers for their customers but I read my own.

Was reading my newspaper when my coffee and cake (s) Grin came
so put the paper on the seat next to me.

Some woman grabbed it from my seat and muttered, if you have finished with it put it back.

I had to run after her and get it back trying to swallow a mouthful of eclair at the same time

She didnt even apologise - rude so and so.

If she had asked nicely if I had finished with it, I could have said it was my own but I would have let her borrow it.

I've had the same sorta thing happen to me. I often buy my own paper and do the crossword in pubs cafes. Someone asked me why I was defacing the cafe's property. What a cheek!

MadamDeathstare - a death stare, surely? Grin

lottiejenkins · 28/03/2011 16:17

If ever i glare at someone i call it a "Paddington Bear" stare......... As in "Paddington gave the man a very harrrrrrrrrrrd stare!!"

knockinonyerdoor · 28/03/2011 16:19

I went in the buffet at our local railway station for a coffeek, went to pay and the man took an extra 60p for the newspaper under my arm. He said that my address in pencil on the front page wasn't proof that it was mine! I had to open it up and show him the half-completed crossword before he'd believe I'd had it delivered to my house two hours earlier.

He was even more pissed off when he had to call his manager to open the cash register to give me my money back and got a right bollocking Grin

Sarkylady is right. People who are habitually rude will find themselves in embarrassing situations much more frequently than those who are not.
So YABU to be annoyed, think of it as a funny story Smile

SarkyLady · 28/03/2011 16:43

And yabu not to start a "when rude people make arses of themselves thread" :)
