put something heavy behind them?

MaisyMooCow · 27/03/2011 23:29

Put something behind them that will make a right old noise if it gets pushed over! Lock your bedroom door too.

stealthcat · 27/03/2011 23:31

Do you have a bolt in the house - if you could fit that behind the door it would give some security.

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 27/03/2011 23:32

I often forget to lock my doors, you'll be fine. :)
Who (burglar wise) wanders around checking if doors are unlocked anyway? If they wanted to break in any other time, they wouldnt worry about the door being locked...

AuntiePickleBottom · 27/03/2011 23:38

allsquareknickersnofurcoat...never thought of it like that.

going to put the tumble dryer in front though just to give me peace of mind

make sure that you can exit quickly in case of an emergency

AuntiePickleBottom · 27/03/2011 23:42

the front door is fine as i can lock that from the inside, it just the side door which needs a key

Tumble dryer sounds good :)

Keep your mobile by your bed too, you'll feel better with it nearby.

And remember, in the olden days, people left their doors wide open at night (or so they say) Grin

MaisyMooCow · 28/03/2011 00:01

Going forward it might be a good idea to keep a spare key in the house somewhere. ...and get an alarm.

Not that any of that helps you tonight ! :)

humanoctopus · 28/03/2011 00:22

Does it have a handle on the inside?

If so, you could put a chair up under the handle so that it couldn't be opened?

Horribly insecure feeling, I know, its happened to me.

AuntiePickleBottom · 28/03/2011 00:27

grat now dp is not answering his phone, so i can tell him not to use the side door.

why i put the keys in the car i don't know, as there is a set of keys for the house on the car keys....what a muppet i am

when will he be home?

AuntiePickleBottom · 28/03/2011 00:40

about between 5am-6:30 depending on when the lorry driver turns up

OP posts:
allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 28/03/2011 00:42

ahh, bit too late to stay up then Grin
what time do you normally get up? would it be stupidly inconvenient to get up then??

allsquareknickersnofurcoat · 28/03/2011 00:42

or, send him a text, set your alarm for 5am, if he hasnt replied then get up, if he has, roll over and go back to sleep :)

AuntiePickleBottom · 28/03/2011 00:43
