with a 10 year old neighbour.

I put my foot down about 18s and rather wish i had about the 15s too. I dont want to be a spoilsport and there's not so many kids to play with in our street. The other kids folks think its ok. The other kids folks dont seem to mind but the age restriction is for a reason , right ?

It depends on the game and the child in my opinion.

Some games have bad language or sexual content..others have graphic violent content...some have mild language but are still rated 15.

If it is just the swearing content that makes it a 15, then I really wouldnt worry too much, its nothing that he isnt going to hear in the street or at school.

PaWithABra · 26/03/2011 19:01

the games he has played are called 'Halo reach' he thinks

and 'Call of duty- world at war'

are these reasonably ok . I dont mind a bit a swearing (he hears enough at home tbh ) .

my ds has played these,he's almost 13

imo its when they are played live over the internet connection that it becomes a problem

i have discovered ds playing with a group of american men beforeShock

ddubsgirl · 26/03/2011 19:09

I posted a thread about this.
I got some good advice on here.
But the best was from a friend who said - make the mum watch the footage while she is eating.
If she cannot eat, she will bar the game. If she can eat, never go there again.
It is nasty, nasty stuff

how do you KNOW that - until the day you are being hounded by the police and press because they didn't ?
