Just made tuna pasta bake and divided into 5 dishes. DD will have one for tea and I will freeze the rest. Came upstairs to MN check emails, heard a noise downstairs, went down, dog slinking away licking his lips.

He has eaten a bit from one of the dishes which was near the edge of the work counter.

I have scraped a couple of spoonfuls off the top.

AIBU to feed it to DD for tea? (She does let the dog lick her face)

Why not shoot the dog and retrieve the pasta?

YABU, there are others, the dog may have drooled all over the dish.

VinegarTits · 23/03/2011 15:56

YABU dog licking her face (why do you let it do this? Hmm) and intentionally feeding her dog slobber are two different things

Okonomiyaki · 23/03/2011 15:56

I would. Little bit of dog dribble, yum yum.

I think most wouldn't, though Blush

ttalloo · 23/03/2011 15:57

Ewwww - wouldn't let the dog lick her face, and I definitely wouldn't let her eat anything the dog might have eaten from.

Why didn't you cover the dishes since you have a dog on the premises?

DramaInPyjamas · 23/03/2011 15:57

Urgh. I couldn't

Jacksmania · 23/03/2011 15:58

Is it still going to be baked until it's bubbling hot? In that case I wouldn't be too worried. Would probably generously scrape bits off the top though.

Should I have name-changed before I said this? Blush

GlynisIsFixed · 23/03/2011 15:58

no, me either

would YOU eat it OP?

if so, that's your portion sorted [barf]

Deciduousblonde · 23/03/2011 15:58

Why don't you put the licked bowl in the freezer and give DD the untouched one? I may have missed something...

TobyLerone · 23/03/2011 15:59
ExitPursuedByALamb · 23/03/2011 15:59

That's a resounding no then.

I didn't cover them because he is meant to bloody well behave himself.

Bastard dog. An afternoon's cooking gone to waste when I could have been sat in the sun.

dogs spend most of the day rimming themselves

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 23/03/2011 16:00

Put the doggy-tested on in the freezer batch. It will kill off anything that's in there. That said, dog saliva is cleaner than an awful lot of other things that find their way into DCs mouths...

If it's going to be heated when defrosted, there won't be anything wrong with it.

Seabright · 23/03/2011 16:00

Yes, no problem at all with that.

Kids need germs. Dogs are gross, kids are gross. Everyone will be fine

Abr1de · 23/03/2011 16:01

Just zap it in a really hot oven and it will be fine. What the eye doesn't see...

But prepared to admit I'm probably going to be in minority. :)

wonkeydonkies · 23/03/2011 16:01

it took you a whole afternoon to do tuna pasta? blimey

psiloveyou · 23/03/2011 16:01

Well my first thought on reading this was, not sure if I would feed to dd. I might, but I would definately feed to dh without a second thought. That's so bad I do love my husband. Grin

TobyLerone · 23/03/2011 16:02

I'm pretty sure that freezing things doesn't kill germs.

ExitPursuedByALamb · 23/03/2011 16:03

Oh, now some of you are saying it is OK....

No it didn't take me all afternoon, that was just poetic licence.

Mmm, maybe freeze it and then I will forget which one it was as I never label anything.

DD is 11. She is pretty resilient.

Laquitar · 23/03/2011 16:04

I thought you meant 'put it in the freezer for playdates' Grin [runs]

Butterbur · 23/03/2011 16:06

LyingWitch, freezing things definitely doesn't kill germs - just stops them dividing into more germs.

CJCregg · 23/03/2011 16:07

I'd say it depends how recently the dog was licking his arse Grin.

Wouldn't do it myself, and I'm not fussy about most things.

ExitPursuedByALamb · 23/03/2011 16:09

Laquitar - when can your children come to play? Grin

OP posts:
Laquitar · 23/03/2011 16:10

No thanks Grin

BaadRobot · 23/03/2011 16:13

You've got 4 other dishes of it, so why feed DD the one the dog has slobbered in? I'd just bin it. Really quite unkind to give that one to your DD.Hmm But then I feel sick when I see dogs licking peoples faces so...
