I am over a week late for my period, I have sore boobs a couple of times which is unusual for me as I only get them when pregnant. This baby wasnt planned (none were, just lovely little gifts :) ). I could go after school to a clinic and get tested or I can wait until my Drs appointment Friday, this would give me more time for my period to come but I dont know if I can wait to know.

So do I wait, or do I go after school?

Ladies?

Wilko does two for £1.99.

Our surgery will test but you have to make an appointment directly with the midwife.

Why is this thread making me broody, DC3 is only 15 weeks old!

myproblemblob · 23/03/2011 15:37

Yes I'm fine DH has had the snip but I was over a week late and thought .. well it does happen... was a little disappointed but then my 3yr old ds2 moaned and groaned about yet another thing and I was ok again Smile

Gemsy83 · 23/03/2011 15:56

Im sorry but why should a grown adult need to waste NHS resources to find out if they are pregnant? Pregnancy tests are available in abundance and shouldn't just be used willy nilly by everyone. And tbh if you are someone who thinks 'oh some accidents aren't a bad thing' maybe you should have a supply in preparation of said accident....

Am36butfeel66 · 23/03/2011 15:59

Yes what is it with 3 yr olds?...I'm convinced my dd 3.7yr is actually a teenager in disguise!

Hope knittedBreast that you a getting sorted?

Am36butfeel66 · 23/03/2011 16:01

X post
That's a bit harsh Gemsy83

TobyLerone · 23/03/2011 16:05

Kind of agree with Gemsy tbh.

confuddledDOTcom · 23/03/2011 16:29

Try Boots or Lloyds, they often do free pregnancy testing.

x2boys · 23/03/2011 18:01

all pound shops near me sell them and home and and bargain very cheaply i got positives quite early on on cheapy tests they still, have to be fit for purpose best of luck

FlorenceCalamityandJoanofArc · 23/03/2011 18:07

Agree with Gemsy. And if you can't afford a pregnancy test I don't know how you expect to pay for another baby.

CrapBag · 23/03/2011 18:47

I also agree with Gemsy.

Tesco sell one test for £2.99.

dexifehatz · 23/03/2011 23:07

Am36butfeel66 · 23/03/2011 23:15

That's a very helpful comment Florence, I bet OP will be really glad that you helped her so much with your wonderful words of wisdom. :(

FlorenceCalamityandJoanofArc · 23/03/2011 23:21

Am36butfeel66 · 23/03/2011 23:23

I've just taken my false teeth out so no biting for me tonight thanks

Am36butfeel66 · 23/03/2011 23:27

Actually if you read the last two lines of the op you will see that she was asking for comments!
Off now to console myself with hot chocolate. Bye

FlorenceCalamityandJoanofArc · 23/03/2011 23:28

She got some. Even mine. So what crawled up your arse?

nickelbabyhatcher · 24/03/2011 10:03

miaow

TobyLerone · 24/03/2011 10:21

I agree with Florence, too.

upyourdiva · 24/03/2011 10:49

Knitted I used a pack of poundland ones when I tested in 2006 don't know if they still sell them but it was a pack of 10 cardboard type dip ins not the big clunky plastic ones, they worked fine though as opposed to The Boots own one that gave me a positive result 2 years ago only to find that it was false Angry!

Did you go to the clinic and if so how did you get on?

Knitted did not ask for help about finances we don't know the situation, just because she has no spare cash right now does not mean she won't have any in the furture.

She could also have stuff kept back from her other DC's so you don't need to spend a fortune!

LDNmummy · 24/03/2011 11:06

Groan...

The OP said she was broke till the end of the month, there could be any number of reasons for that you vultures. Besides, if tests are so cheap then it won't be that big a deal if its done at the doctors. She said she had to go in anyway and they probably are bulk bought from a supplier for 20p each.

OP did you test, was following to see what happened.

yes, i noticed that the other day!
you get your BFP, 9 months later, you get your PFB! Grin

confuddledDOTcom · 24/03/2011 13:03

Who can't identify with the end of month broke feeling? Doesn't stop any of us affording our children.

MissVerinder · 24/03/2011 13:09

Pregnancy tests are v. cheap for health services as they are bought in such bulk, and I don't even work for the NHS. I presume the lady pays her taxes, so why can't she have a 50p test?

LDNmummy well said.

Wasting NHS resources indeed- that's what it's there for.

MissVerinder · 24/03/2011 13:10

Oh, OP, good luck BTW!
