To think my ex is a total saddo who needs to grow up SERIOUSLY

We were together 10yrs ago for 18m. The relationship fell apart when I gave in to his wishes and did something which at the time I didn't want to do but in hindsight I can see it was the best possible option.

I am friends with most of my exes well I say most I mean the longterm ones (3 of 4 of them anyway). Including one I was going to marry but I we grew up.

Anyway I digress. So I am sitting here this morning and ex texts to ask how DS1 is getting on now we have a DX for him. I reply and we have a general chit chat conversation. Until he drops in that he has moved into a flat and would I like a visit. I replied yeah that'd be cool, the boys would love the journey. His reply was

"I meant just you, I have spent 10 yrs looking for a woman like you and have never found anyone who came close to you in any way. Nights out, days out, time together has been boring and not on par with what we had, and the sex has been rubbish in comparison. Maybe you could bring one of your friends and we could have a 3sum if you don't want just me anymore"

I replied I was with DP and had been for 5yrs and was more than happy, did he not remember why we split in the first place etc etc.

He then replied and said "But I have never stopped loving you, you meant the world to me and broke my heart when you left me"

I replied and told him he needed to stop with stupid comments like that or I would never speak to him again.

AIBU to think he is a sad lonely old man now and just needs/wants a shag lol poor guy

He did reply and apologise, saying he was out of order and would understand if i never spoke to him again but it would be a shame to lose a friend like me.

plopplopquack · 23/03/2011 13:22

He actually asked you to visit, bring a friend and have a 3sum?!! Seriously! Did he actually think you would agree to that?!

Desperateforthinnerthighs · 23/03/2011 13:24

He is a total cock!

doutzen · 23/03/2011 13:25

Wow.
What did your DP say?

Shock at 3sum (it took me a moment to work it out).
OP, YANBU. I had one long term relationship before I met DH, I lived with a man for 18 months or so. He is well minted and bought our house for cash, got me a car blah blah blah. He does sporadically get in touch and asks me to reconsider taking him back.
I've been married to DH for 24 years.

I told him as much DFTT and LMHF
