To the the tech guys "Whatever Happens" is a total and utter con?

It should be renamed "wotever" because that is the attitude you get from them.

I got a laptop and paid nearly £300 for their "Whatever Happens" agreement. The first time I sent it in they did not return it for a month, lied to me three times about when it was going to be returned, and then only returned it because I demanded the free loan laptop that I'm entitled to (which they would not have given me unless I had demanded it).

The second time, they decided that my laptop which had slipped onto the floor accidentally was due to neglect and that they could neither fix it or repair it. This is despite various promises" If we can't fix it, we'll replace it" and other such utter shite.

I'm now £800 out of pocket and NEVER using currys or whatever happens again, and be warned you will be much better off using your house insurance than wasting your money on these liars!

totally agree, curreys has always been awful when we've used them before

the problem is that their staff don't have good customer service in general, and the guys on the floor aren't doing it as a job they enjoy, they're just salesmen who know a bit about what they're selling.

whilst DH was at uni(he's in IT) he worked in a few pc shops, not curreys. but i remember how much he hated it, and this is someone who lives and breathes computers - too much sales pressure. no wonder their guys give crap customer service, tbh.

The tech guys are a bit crap TBH. One of XP's friends who was in computers got hold of a disc handed out to the "tech guys" which basically consisted of several utilities which would do just about anything - even really simple things that anyone proficient in computers could do themselves. So he deduced their training consisted of "How to use your tool kit CD" and the rest was sorting out really simple problems for computer illiterate people.

I bought a TV from Currys and took out 3 years insurance. I kid you not the policy expired at Midnight the tv broke 2 hours later. I contacted currys and the insurance company that they deal with and they abousultely refused to have anything to do with it..I tried repeateldly to speak to a manager etc I was laughed at and told stop ringing..I will never ever buy from them and I tell anyone who is going there to shop elsewhere...

Cowboys Ted, fecking cowboys.....

insert do you have household insurance?

I'm at my wit's end with what to do, I'm thinking of calling watchdog because that level of service is just ridiculous...
