So no mail for me all week and today 5 items!

Tesco Baby & Toddler mag
Mothercare Catalogue
Tesco clubcard coupons for baby items
Boots advantage coupons for baby products
A voucher for butlins term time holidays.

I am sitting here having a wee bubble to myself, i've had a bad week and am fed up of being just "mum".

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE being "mummy" but sometimes I'd like to be known as myself! YKWIM??

DP works long hours and has 2 days off a week if lucky (never together) so I feel these days off need to be spent as family days.

I work 3 days a week but have to time getting to and from work to dropping and picking dcs up from nursery so I don't even have that journey home to relax listening to music etc.

I HATE taking DCs (2.7yo and 11mo) to the shops and its a bugger to get round the shops with double buggy and forget trying things on! So my clothes shopping is done in tesco or asdas when i'm doing the weekly shop! (i don't buy clothes every week btw).

DP said don't worry we'll treat you on mothers day and you can have time to yourself. BUT my DD2's 1st birthday is on mothers day and anyway i want to spend time with my kids on mothers day!

I'm just having a rant! AIBU to want to be more than mum! How do other people get round this feeling?

I should point out that my job (and department) is at risk of being made redundant as no work so i don't really feel as if I have an identity there.

thanks Wicked!

I feel guilty as i love my girls but sometimes just feel slightly invisible!

For instance just now i have a stonking cold with really bad cracked lips and MIL comes in and asks how kids are and how is DP, what time will he finish and will he have dinner! Eh i'm alright thanks!!!

I agree with wicked. I love being "just Mummy" too but sometimes being 'just me' is what I need. Its hard to balance the family and individual time. Come Sunday, DH's day off, (he's a Chef, so long hours through the week) I have full intention of going off and doing stuff as 'just me' but then I really like being the mummy part of the whole family. I always hate getting junk mail addressed to me but the other day I was thinking I wish I got mail, period. Even a bill would be nice... I have them emailed now.

Unsubscribe yourself from all those catalogue mailing lists. Then if you want post, order catalogues for chocolate, wine and holidays you'd really like to go on - or write to long-lost friends :)

Go online there's still some nice sale stuff in Top shop, River Island etc and order something.. then next week something nice will be delivered just for you

Want to be pen pals? :) You could get a fabulous letter from Minnesota in with all those vouchers, etc! :)

I hear ya, Chesty. Make sure DH spoils you rotten when the DCs are in bed on Mothers Day after DD's bday fun.
