Gits.

Tried to pay for next week's school dinners, card declined. Tried again, card declined. Panicked slightly, phoned Telephone banking in case all my money has gone to some Nigerian King or something. No, no, no fraud flags on your account Mrs Bear. Do you want any insurance while we are on the phone?

Within a few minutes, I got a call to my mobile (and I had missed 2 calls from the same number earlier in the day) to tell me there is a fraud flag against my account - please verify these transactions. Verified, fabulous, says the weird auto-lady-voice, use your card again, we will continue watching you for your own security blah blah blah.

Can I pay for the school dinners? Can I heck.

AIBU to think that when they say they have lifted the stoppage, they actually might bother to do so?

And...breathe.

It can take an hour for the flag to lift from your card, I'd leave it for now.

BTW talking to phone banking about cards is not a good idea as they don't understand how they work - in any bank.

Getting a lot of declines on your card can put a flag on it as well, I'd actually wait until tomorrow if I was you.
