Totally agree. She's the bit of fluff tacked on the side, you can see the other three cringe when she speaks. Couldn't they have chosen a smart and funny woman to accompany the others. I find charlie brooker the funniest.

You are totally correct. Speaking other people's lines in a "kooky" voice does not make you funny.

I love Lauren Laverne! She's just returned to her 6 music show after maternity leave and I've missed her! She's a very smart and funny woman, from the 5 minutes I watched of the 10 o'clock show none of it was any good. Not her fault if she's given crap to work with.

She is great, especially on 6Music. The 10 O'Clock show role doesn't play to her strengths at all.

dunno about 6Music, but on 10 0'clock show she is cringeworthy - last night one of the others (?Jimmy carr perhaps) said something or other, and LL said, "ooh, that's dark." (in a non-ironic way). How embarrassing!

And I usually can't stand what she's wearing (although last night wasn't as awful as usual).

No. She's ace. I have enjoyed some of her pieces. She seemed a bit nervous at the start of the series, but is hitting her stride now in my view.

There are loads of really talented female comics around. Why choose her instead of them She has no comic timing whatsover when delivering her material.

I like her a lot - she's smart and she keeps them in line - I really enjoy the show

I want to like her, I kind of do, but then at the same time she annoys me (it might have something to do with DP thinking she's the dog's bollocks :o) - she is just a bit try-too-hard-to-be-kooky and a bit awkward. But something about that show is not right all round. It just doesn't work. She's better on other things.

I really liked LL before her mat leave but I fell in love with Huey. I just can't get into her now she's back. Huey was so natural and really brightened up my mornings. She tries a bit too hard sometimes and says cheesy DJ things like 'I'm taking over the ones and two's' and it annoys me a bit. I never noticed it before. She's still one of the better female presenters though. Imagine Cotton, Willoughby or the worst of all, McCall fronting the programme!

But the "libraries" comment isn't funny. At all. And I can imagine her delivery of it. So OP's case proven
