yes I know a thread about a thread, well a few threads tbh

The one about the old lady in particular

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/am_i_being_unreasonable/1173003-To-punch-an-old-lady-right-in-the-kisser

pretty disgusted at how low and disgusting some of these remarks are, I was under the impression that mumsnet wasa place of acceptance? support but clearly I weas mistaken

I'll give myself a biscuit Biscuit

Sorry but who are you again?

WinterOfOurDiscountTents · 17/03/2011 00:30

MN isn't a place for any one thing, its a semi-homgenous mass of differing opinion and therefore does not have set mindset on anything one thing.

Kittens and rainbows are to be found elsewhere. Not clinking on your link, fred about a fred bad form.

Morloth · 17/03/2011 01:31

' I was under the impression that mumsnet wasa place of acceptance? support but clearly I weas mistaken'

Clearly you were, posting on MN is not compulsory, if you don't like it there is a handy button on the type right of your browser to make us all go away.

Sorted, NEXT!

Sigh

Not clicking on your thread, about a thread...........

Smile
HecateTheCrone · 17/03/2011 07:09

the problem is that mumsnet isn't one thing. it's not one person with one opinion. mumsnet isn't anything but the views of a few thousand people.

you are being rather foolish if you think that you are going to get anything but a massive range of views and you are being very dim indeed to think that you can take that and apply a single opinion or philosophy to mumsnet.

it's rather widely accepted in many forums, but like all informal rules of ettiquette it is not compulsory. Smile

GypsyMoth · 17/03/2011 09:38

The thread was /is dodgy...... And I hid it last night, but no, you need to provide a link

TobyLerone · 17/03/2011 11:38

I agree about the "thread about a thread" thing being bollocks. There seem to be so many informal/unspoken rules on MN. But then again, I'm also regularly amused by the hypocrisy of those who are judgemental about certain things but will jump down the throats of others for being judgemental. The OBEM thread for Monday just gone was a perfect example of this (ooooh, a comment about a thread within a threat about another thread! Someone call the MN police!)

Who are the judgypants crew? Is that another gang I'm not in?

Arse. Envy

SocialChameleon · 17/03/2011 12:14

nowt as queer as folk

Deliainthemaking · 17/03/2011 16:37

Im not saying others cant have an opinion , the title of this thread isn't people shouldn't have differing opinions.

I was commenting on people being judgey to the point of being appalling.

Sorry what are you objecting to? The judging of old ladies. Or the judging of young mothers. or both of them?

Confused
Deliainthemaking · 17/03/2011 16:43

some of the posters where saying things like 'you've come on here to show you've got A levels won't get my approval'

completely irrelevant tripe used to put down someone in a personal way not okay,And no one really says anything, it seemed like bullying to me.
