It might just be me being a tight wad but everything seems to have got more expensive for example I went to a market today and the stall holder wanted 9 pound for a in the night garden towel poncho and in primark you get a crappy quality cardi for 15 pound I swear it was half that price last year. Cheaper places just dont seem to be bargains places anymore is it just me or does anyone else feel the same.

Fruit seems more expensive to me. Don't get me started on petrol

Booandpops · 13/03/2011 20:51

Food seems alright but supermarkets keeping them low I think. Petrol outrageous!!!!!!!! Clothes dunno? Only tend to buy in sale unless I love something.

ethelina · 13/03/2011 20:53

Bloody grapes £2.50 for a small punnett? Refuse to buy them now.

Fuel is ridiculously expensive and unlikely to get any cheaper, unfortunately.

I was even shocked at the price of a Crunchie - 70p! Fucking extortionate.

mummy2aisha · 13/03/2011 21:00

ethelina exactly a crunchie 70p what going on. I saw a packet of polo mints for 50p the other day they called 15p last time I looked mind you that was 10 years ago.

yanbu. Have to shop in 3 different shops to keep the costs down and fruit comes from the market now as the grape prices take the piss.

Clothes I buy in sales and agree with you about primark prices. Although underwear are still cheap but the cardi's etc have gone right up in price

atswimtwolengths · 13/03/2011 22:35

And everything's smaller now. If a supermarket's kept the same price, you can bet your life the product's half the size.

sharbie · 13/03/2011 22:41

paid 85p for a kit kat the other day - thought they were still about 25p

bananas are getting cheaper - bizarrely
