To think breast fed babies are more intellegent

Because their parents tend to be more intellegent not because they were breast fed?
More intellegent parents are more likely to choose to breast feed regardless of any dificulties they face if they think it will benefit their children.

Popped in to see where this was at and it seems to be something of Groundhog Day.......

THANKYOU NGS and RAW, im sick of the women who put down women who dont bf, or the 'you dont care enough about your babys health' brigade. My daughter was prem so i chose to bf and express. But my sister COULD NOT bf, even though she was desperate to. Im sick of these women trying to make mums who ff feel like shit.

ladymystikal · 17/03/2011 15:57

so this baby didn't get a raw deal?

In response to the article Ruby this article was highlighting the danger of ff without a clean water supply. how does this apply to women in this country, or any other developed country??

bubbleymummy · 17/03/2011 18:38

Lady, well unfortunately developed countries aren't immune to natural disasters - look at Japan and New Zealand. People are running out of food and clean water - not the best environment to be trying to sterilise bottles and make up formula (if you can get it!)

Also, people are not trying to make people who ff feel like shit - unfortunately any time anyone says anything about ff having risks or bf having benefits someone will get offended but we can't all just tip toe around the issue, keep quiet and pretend that there isn't any difference for the sake of sparing someone's feelings.

"Cory - can I suggest you read how the research into infant feeding is done so you understand what is controlled for and how?"

I have read how research is done and I understand about procedures for controlling for other factors. But I have also spent my life around people doing research and I know such controls are not flawless. Which is why I brought up the example of undiagnosed medical conditions (my dd) as a factor that it would be very difficult to allow for.
