To tell the Hairy Bikers that this person's Mum DIDN'T Know Best?

Well, their dad.

I tried a recipe from the Hairy Biker's Mums Know Best programme (sharing recipes that have been passed down families) that was on earlier this week called Dad's Curried Lentils.

It looked yummy - and wanting to get OH to eat lentils and cut back on meat a bit, I thought this would be great.

OH was all for it, so I made it last night.

Quite frankly? Fucking horrible. A bit like curried wallpaper paste, just less tasty.

I now have about a kilo of what looks like the contents of a baby's nappy to dispose of and it's two weeks till the next bin day.

Wonder what Si and Dave would say if I emailed them to say it was bogging?

I have found a new way of disposing of food - flush it down the toilet.

You need foxes living in a field behind your house and badgers down other side of the field..... we leave the food at the end of the garden like some sort of pagan sacrifice and the greedy buggers eat the lot.... the only thing they won't touch is oranges oddly enough Confused

And i've chucked burnt bolognase, mouldy forgotton about leftovers, rancid meat and everything inbetween out there on occasion.

I do lentils with carots, spuds and spices which is quite nice.... what was the recipe? Dare I suggest that the fault may be the technique and not the recipe? Wink

I'm a great cook thanks! Followed the recipe perfectly, it was just fucking disgusting.

Grabaspoon - I have a border collie who usually takes care of leftovers, but I'd imagine it would only come back out the other end rather quickly, and probably still looking pretty much the same! Grin

In fact, I don't think I'd even wish it on a badger or fox Shock
