to want to hug the girl in Sainsbury's who found my lost shopping bag with £100 worth of treats

my heart is pounding. I treated myself to a lovely new cardi, some new make up and toiletries, plus leggings for dds. and when I got home couldn't find it anywhere. knowing that I'd put my shopping bags down in the street to have a creme egg rest for a minute I thought it would be untraceable (or causing a bomb scare - town is crawling with police as the Lib Dems are confering), but I phone all the shops I'd been in and a lovely lady at Sainsbury's has it. I would have been gutted. I would have cried. now I'm a very happy lady.

awwwwwwww,i would always hand something in,found a present in a club that the girls sitting at the table before us had forgotten to pick up,was bottle of bubbly & chocolates, handed it in behind the bar.

a friend we had staying with us found a mobile on the bus,he wanted to keep it but i said no and looked through the phone and could tell it was a kids phone, found a home number so rang it,spoke to the boys brother,he had gone home crying cos he had lost it,they came round next day to collect and the young boy had broght me a box of roses :) bless him!

YANBU - how nice to hear of someone being kind

Quenelle · 11/03/2011 14:56

I dropped £40 in Tesco a couple of months ago and somebody handed it in to customer service.

The copy of the slip I had to sign had the person's name and address on so I sent a thank you card with £5 in.

alemci · 11/03/2011 15:04

it is good when this happens. i left a bag with some expensive Laura Mercier stuff in it at the till point in Wilkos and the cashier had put it behind their desk. I was so grateful.

I would do the same if i found something.

SeeJaneKick · 11/03/2011 15:14

I am very glad for you! Like alemici I left a bag in Wilko's...mine was full of expensive new oilcloth for my redecorated kitchen....they had had it handed in andkept it for me for a week!

I like it when people have a happy ending.

it's weird isn;t it - I'm far happier now than I would have been if I'd never lost it in the first place!

I found a toddlers bestest beloved knackered teddy outside school once and handed it into the office. The mum got it back after he'd cried for it all weekend and was so grateful. I had a Warm Glow.

Lovely to hear there are still nice people out there.

Enjoy your new stuff Smile

tiredfeet · 11/03/2011 16:50

That's lovely Smile glad you got it back, its a horrible feeling realising you've lost something but so nice to know there are people who will hand it in

Lavitabellissima · 11/03/2011 17:02

One Christmas I was working as a manager in a shop full of lovely gifts. One of the young weekend girls was helping a customer buying/picking presents, the customer said "I've just got one more gift to buy, is there anything in the shop you particularly like?" member of staff said that the chocolate truffles were really nice and very popular and the customer put them in her basket.
After she had paid, she gave her the jar of chocolates and said "Happy Christmas" Grin

berylmuspratt · 11/03/2011 17:05
