Am knackered toddler dd -(yes dd, you're a toddler not a fecking newborn) kept me up most of night and I can barely stay awake.
Have haphazardly don housework and food is in oven for him.
I know he won't mind. I just feel a bit crappy to be buggering off as soon as he walks in.

Can you suggest that he eats his food and comes up to bed to join you for a cuddle?

Dh is often home very late and I leave him a note telling him I have gone up to bed to make sure the bed is warm for him.

Nah it's got to be done sometimes if you're that knackered!

My husband comes in from nightshift and goes straight to bed, he just can't keep his eyes open.

good idea barbara. he could even bring hsi dinner up and eat it with you in the room? or will he have to take over DD duties from you?

Toddler will probably still be up but with me in bed. She is the amazing non-sleeping child.

You can all have a cuddle then. Smile

Don't stay up if you don't have to.

When our 2 dcs were tiny and getting up at stupid o'clock dh and I often went to bed really really early at weekends or when he was around in the week. It made all the difference.

in that case then tell him to bring his dinner up and eat with you and then he can take DD away and let you sleep.
