hearing the name 'Brian Cox'.

I understand it's a very good series but am starting to wonder if it is possible to get through a day without him being mentioned.

YANBU... he's been cropping up on the radio as well. Awful whiney geek voice he's got. Doesn't go with the awesome cosmic themes at all. Used to think Patrick Moore was bad. Brrr...

Brian Cox is he a Prof in the same way that Gillian Keith is a doctor?

Wiki, (who must be right) says that he is a British particle physicist, a Royal Society University Research Fellow and a professor at the University of Manchester. He is a member of the High Energy Physics group at the University of Manchester, and works on the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider, CERN, near Geneva, Switzerland. He is also working on the R&D project of the FP420 experiment in an international collaboration to upgrade the ATLAS and the CMS experiment by installing additional, smaller detectors at a distance of 420 metres (1,380 ft) from the interaction points of the main experiments.[1]

He is best known to the public as the presenter of a number of science programmes for the BBC. He also had some fame in the 1990s as the keyboard player for the pop band D:Ream.

My DH has just got his phd and had a shouty face at Prof Cox on the telly, 'He's too young to be a proper Prof, must be a TV one'

I read an interview with his wife a while ago, she sounds great! Although a little hacked off at the "groupies" trying to pull her husband.

Dd (4.5!) loves his program though, I've been recording that and Human Planet for her. Strange child...
