To want to take 6month DD to Baby Ballet?

MillieMoosMummy · 09/03/2011 20:13

My DD is actually 5 months but baby ballet starts at 6 months (anyone have any experience of this??)

My MIL basically told me I shouldn't, in front of all of DH's family. She thinks DD 'Does enough already!'

I felt like she was implying that DD isn't having a good time, or that I'm not thinking of her, but I swear she likes her actvities.

At swimming lessons she smiles and splashes, at Gymboree she actually laughs and giggles.

We also do Catapillar music and go to rhyme time at the library.

In four weeks we are starting 'Gymbabes' at Tumbletots.

I tried P & T groups but found them really cliquey.

I'm quite upset about MIL saying this and really enjoy DD's activities.

AIBU? Is she right?

Jesus, is it so hard to understand? You sound naff. If you had been called FuckMeILoveMillie the responses would have been totally different.

MillyMoosMummy · 10/03/2011 22:42

If I wanted you to know 'Funnyisthegarden', I wouldn't have namechanged.

I've received such a warm reception I thought it probably best to make a new name to give someone advice so you didn't all jump all over me. like you're doing now

swallowthree · 10/03/2011 22:44

MIL is right.

MillyMoosMummy · 10/03/2011 22:45

Jesus - do you hear yourselves? Wtf is the issue with me??? So I take my baby out? So what?

Half of you think it's too much and half of you are just pissed because I go to paid for activities rather than a surestart centre.

And the problem is now my name apparently?? Jesus Christ.

FunnysInTheGarden · 10/03/2011 22:46

MMM in the words of the great Jezza Kyle, you need to grow a pair. MN is HUGE and name changing is evidence that you think you are more important than you really are.

MerryMarigold · 10/03/2011 22:47

I'll show you smugness: "(on a smartphone)"
My SIL is like this and she lives in Surrey. Maybe you are my SIL - eeeeeeeeek!

Grin at funnys new name for you!

scottishmummy · 10/03/2011 22:48

dont sweat it milly.just strangers rattle tattling.words on a screen and all that

i do think baby ballet is poncetatstic, but its your money and up to you

MillyMoosMummy · 10/03/2011 22:49

I was going to put iPhone but thought you would... Do exactly this! So I tried to be vague.

Love the new bullying tactics though. I'm sure your children are led by your very good example Hmm

Morloth · 10/03/2011 22:50

I have enjoyed this thread immensely. I wonder, is a coven better or worse than a nest of vipers?

MillyMoosMummy · 10/03/2011 22:51

Funnyisthegarden - someone just searched my name. So clearly my namechange was valid? And in the great words of my friend... It's clear that some people just don't have the intelligence they were born with.

Grow a pair??? Where's the relevance??? Get a clue.

MerryMarigold · 10/03/2011 22:53

Don't feel bullied...it's all more exaggerated on here than in real life. You did post here and you do have a lot of replies, so take 'em or leave 'em (the replies to your orginal question).

majorydoors · 10/03/2011 22:54

Thats shite about autochange to get as it would come up correct from previously stored name.

If you so 'on the level' and right, why would you need to you not right, there is something not right about this thread

scottishmummy · 10/03/2011 22:55

milly some folk like searching names play detective
chin stroking and idle speculation

MillyMoosMummy · 10/03/2011 22:56

Merry - I'm happy with the valid replies, I know where I posted and I think I've been quite a good sport...

But ':) at funny's new name for you!' and all that is just soooooo pathetically childish. I'm embarrassed for them.

MerryMarigold · 10/03/2011 22:56

majory, I agree with you

MillyMoosMummy · 10/03/2011 22:57

Majory - yes I'm a spy. Sent to test the waters of baby ballet Hmm
Rats, foiled again!

merry but the OP hasnt really responded to replies she has ignored a lot of stuff and is just downright smug. Very suspicous re namechange lets all just say it to placate her

welovemilliemoos or is it welovemillymoos

....times of austerity not on MN! Grin

MerryMarigold · 10/03/2011 22:59

MillieMoos or MillyMoos, I was merely tickled by Funnys new name, nothing more and the insight that went along with it (people do judge you by your MN nickname, like a first impression based on your appearance). Funnys was really funny, in a childish kind of way! Not to gang up on you, purely because it was an amusingly MNish name. But, take it as you will...the iphone thing is still a bit weird to me though.

MangoTango · 10/03/2011 23:00

Not read all the 16 pages, but take no notice of your MIL and sign your dd up for whatever you like. You've said she is clearly enjoying the activities and is getting plenty of sleep, plus it is nice for you to get out and about. It's not harming anyone and you and your dd like it and that is all that matters.

majorydoors · 10/03/2011 23:01

NSOH - like a graveyard get over yourself MMM

FunnysInTheGarden · 10/03/2011 23:02

MMM you are getting all overwrought again. Perhaps you need to take a RL break?

Don't take it all so seriously. Accept that you are poncetastic, yet do the best for your DD.

And really calling MN folk of 'limited intelligence'? You really are barking up the wrong arbour

MerryMarigold · 10/03/2011 23:03

Majory, I posted very early on last night (about 3rd or 4th post) and was shocked to come on this evening and see all this attention the thread had got! Haven't had time to catch up with entire thread...but can kind of gather how it went by the last few posts.

merryberry · 10/03/2011 23:04

mostly yawn
but oh oh oh
lol black swan

MillyMoosMummy · 10/03/2011 23:04

Majory - I've responded to practically everything.

Show we stuff I haven't responded to, with the exception of a woman I pointedly ignored after much discussion earlier today (livenamechange or something) and I'll answer it.

I am not smug. Not a day goes by when I don't consult this site or a book about my DD's feeding or something, most of what I've had to write on here has been defensive.

My first post had gone well hasn't it? I certainly won't be posting again so well done! Hurrah to you all.
