on the tube home there was a young couple.

the girl was a pretty and curvy muslim (well she was wearing hijab) and she was holding her partners hand and chatting.

because of the way she was leaning into her boyfriend her bottom was slightly encroaching on the next seat. on this seat a (sleazy old)bloke was blatantly (to me sat opposite) using this opporunity to make contact between her bum and his hand. sometimes she would reset in the seat and each time he would re-adjust his hand so that it made contact again.

i felt that had the girl noticed she would have been really upset and i was wondering if i should have said something but i didn't. i have to admit partly this was because i was worried that it might be an even bigger issue for her and her boyfriend due to her cultual background (i realise a big assumption on my part but i'm sure we're all guilty of these sorts of judgements) and i didn't want to be the cause of an escalating scene.

A grope is as grope no matter what your religion. I probably would have just blatently stared him out and not said anything.

i would have stared him out too....make sure he knew i knew!!

unfortunately he was staring at a mobile phone screen which he was holding with his other hand.

I was on a crowded tube a few years ago when someone had a grope of my bum, I grabbed his hand held it up and shouted "anyone lose this? I found it on my arse"!

I think you should have given him a look to say I know what you are doing you old perv

Tough one. I think you probably did the right thing by not telling her because as you say it probably would have just upset her while it didn't bother her when she didn't know. At the same time it does seem super creepy that he was getting his jollies while she was oblivious :(
