Not in our house bathroom

(by this time the plumbers had driven me so daffy that I didn't care as long as they just left!)

In my house the taps are labelled backwards. Was weeks before I worked it out. Confused True story.

Vallhala · 09/03/2011 12:48

It might be in your house.

In mine my little shite of a dear beloved 15 yo daughter thought it funny to swap the tops of the taps over to fool me and my best pal, who was visiting for a week, into thinking that a recent plumbing job had caused the hot water to the bathroom basin to come out of the cold tap and vice versa.

My best pal didn't notice (myopic, male, too chilled out to spot it, pick your reason!).

I however spent many hours on the net researching the cause and remedy to this peculiar phenomenon. I concluded that according to several Google searches the problem was a potentially very dangerous and hard to repair one. I even posted questions on here about it. Panic became my middle name.

I rang my landlord too....

... five minutes after which DD decided to 'come clean' :o and admit to her little trick.

I could have wrung her ruddy neck! :o

My place - kitchen on way, bathroom the other Confused

DramaInPyjamas · 09/03/2011 12:52

Our old house had two blue taps in the bathroom. Could never remember which was which.

OTheHugeManatee · 09/03/2011 12:54

Not in my kitchen, it's not.

But then whoever designed my kitchen also left a washing machine gap that is 1cm too narrow for a standard washing machine. So I don't think that proves anything.

I hate plumbing. Moved in to discover the bath was not plumbed in to anything - water drained to the floor.

Tempted to just have sponge baths.

Wow it is quite dangerous to swap hot and cold taps Shock - could have been nasty. Glad your daughter came clean.

My taps are hot on the left cold on the right.
