Am so angry with DH!

DD2 is in a concert tonight, we only have 2 tickets so only one of us can go, taking DD1 with us.

DH announced this morning that there was a footie match he would like to watch so didn't mind 'giving up' the chance to go to the concert so that I could go.

Fair enough, but when I said if I was going to have to go out at 6.15 so he would have to make sure that all the usual post dinner jobs got done (tidying up the kitchen, sweeping the floor, getting the school bags ready for tomorrow), he got really angry - said he couldn't watch the footie and do those chores.

Am I the only one married (on the whole very happily) to a complete domestic imcompetent who doesn't know the meaning of the word 'multi-task' ?

AIBU or is he ?

I bet he can multi-task. Watch footie, drink beer, shout/comment on match, eat snacks.

Clean the kitchen before you go then he can get his beer easily without slipping on stuff in a manky kitchen.

manicbmc · 08/03/2011 11:23

If the match he is wanting to watch is the Barcelona v Arsenal one then he is being unreasonable. It doesn't kick off until 7.45 - giving him over an hour to tidy sweep and get bags ready.

Good point manic - he can don his pinny and get on with it till the game starts.

JBellingham - yes he's top bloody multitasker when it comes to 'just getting the laptop out to work' when Sky Sports are showing a game he wants to watch. Take your point tho - maybe we should not go to the concert and stay at home so that the DDs can fetch his beer and nuts and I can massage his feet for him...

Ha!

Lazy git.Any way you can disable the telly before you go out?

manicbmc · 08/03/2011 12:28

And take the Sky card with you Wink Grin

KnittedBreast · 08/03/2011 12:29

if he can wank and look at a dirty magazine without stopping breathing he can multi task in other ways too. my partner is the same.

hes just lazy

MrsH75 · 08/03/2011 12:39

I never tidy up after cooking, it's DH's job. I cook, he tidies up.

catwhiskers10 · 08/03/2011 12:54

YANBU he can do the jobs at half-time. The jobs get done and he can watch the game. Problem solved.

atswimtwolengths · 08/03/2011 12:59

Do you sweep the floor every night?

bairn24 · 08/03/2011 16:31

@ swim - I do, but it only takes a couple of mins and I kind of have to as we have 2 messy cats (am talking litter not poop here!) and 2 messy kids.

@ manic - I don't think I could be so mean - but great idea for when he's REALLY p'd me off!!

My main point is that if I am out and he is in, irrespective of what plans he has for his time, if jobs need done he should flaming well do them, it's his house too.

MrsH75, too right. I dread when DH cooks because then I have to clear up.

bairn24 · 08/03/2011 17:35

At least your DH cooks!
Mind you I can't begin to imagine the mess if mine did!
Do you think he's at it? Does domestic stuff SO badly that he hopes I won't ask him again? Hmm
