Stopped me 5year old DD1 from going to much anticapated best friends party today as she has been ill with fever (much better today but stiLl low grade temp)- she was mortified - cried for ages and ages loudly lamenting re all the fun she missed - she went to bed still sad! Now I'm in bed unable to sleep feel so bad that I made the call. I just can't stand mum guilt - there nothing worse - tell me I'm not the only one to suffer these agonies over minor things?

you made a judgement call nothing to be guilty about though.certainly woudnt sweat this.at all

plan another treat and she'll forget about it

If she is going to school tomorrow you should have let her go to the party, a low grade temp never killed anybody and might have done her some good to get out of the house.

Had to do same Etalb, I am sure the other children wouldn't have thanked you for making them all ill so don't feel guilty.DD will have forgotten about it by Tues, if not arrange a play date with birthday girl to make it up.
