Just opened the Pork that is dated use by the 14th of March and it is off, and I mean rancid gut churning stinking off Angry so Sunday dinner in the Runaway house is bloody sausages as that is the only thing not in the freezer and enough for 5 people.

I shall be taking the pork back tomorrow as sods law I did not open it till 5 and the shop shut at 4 today!!!!

That is quite unpleasant.

However, such situations are not limited to Tesco.

Go in with the wrapping, pork and receipt and speak to the manager and get a complaints form as well.

The same happened here today but Sainsburys!

There was a thread about this the other day, seems lots of us have been having problems, especially with Tesco. :(

kittybuttoon · 06/03/2011 19:00

Happened to me at another supermarket. I did not want to keep the meat a moment longer than I had to, so I kept the wrapping, binned the product and phoned them up the next day and told them what I had done.

They invited me to come to the store, gave me a replacement product, a heartfelt apology, and refunded double the purchase price.

I was happy with the way they handled it in the end.

14th march? are you sure it wasn't a badly printed 4th?

unless it was vacuum-packed i wouldn't trust raw meat to stay edible until then anyway Confused

ConstantVigilance · 06/03/2011 19:07

I got some chicken from Tesco the other week and it stunk the fridge out.

It still had three days left on the use by date Angry

RunAwayWife · 06/03/2011 19:25

Defiantly the 14th, it was vacuum packed.

Kids think Sausage for Sunday dinner is cool Hmm
