Should I change me name??

I have been since 2005, I don't post much and for a time I used another name (to post some sensitive things) but I like my name and I would like to keep it, however there is another poster with a Trillian name who posts a lot more then I do and We tend to have views from the opposite sides of things, people have mixed us up and I think it is a little confusing. I also think it is a bit unfair to the other poster and I do know she does not like it.

I don't know weather to name change or just leave.

any advice would be welcome, but I would like to keep my name, is it very unfair? What would you do? Do you have a name that is like another name?

I would like to keep my name but if it is going to cause problems for the other poster I feel bad

trillianastra is quite prolific, so yes, it is quite confusing and personally, I would change

Thing is I chose it because it is special and in a way it is my name (blames parents) also I am crap at thinking up names.

Yes, change to Trillian2005, VintageTrillian or something similar. But don't leave.

No no I have no problem with there being other Trillians no one owns a name I was just thinking after a recent thread we were both on

Usually I would say that whoever has been here first should have claim to the name.

But i have been her since before then and if you asked me who Trillian was i would have assumed you forgot the Astra.

So i think in this case it would be better for you to namechange so as to not be confused.

Plus if Trillain is in someway linked to your RL name it may be better for security reasons to namechange. I ams ure someone will be able to help with a new name.

This is my second name and I admit I miss my first but had to change, (might have to change again as my mother just got internet).

I think if you want to keep your name you should and if the other poster has another word after the trillian part I don't see how it can be confusing.

If you are likely to be on the same threads often, I would change names slightly. (TheOriginalTrillian and VintageTrillian are good.)If not, stay as you are - there are loads of similar names.

I've changed names recently. 'Tis odd for a while but strangely liberating. You get used to it pretty quickly, IME.

We have both been on a few threads but not loads and loads.

As I say I have posted a lot less despite being here longer, so she is the better known poster.

I did think as I was just Trillian and she had another name after her Trillian people would not be confused but it would seem some are.
I have noticed a few poster having similar sounding names and it not being a problem though, however I do not want to cause problems for another poster as I plan to be posting a lot more now

Knowing the other TRillian as I do, i dont think she will be overly bothered by it.

When she first joined i remember a bit of discussion with Souteastastra over the names. Trills was quite forthright in teh fact that the names were different and therefor it wouldn't be an issue.

So it probably wouldn;t overly bother her, but if you didn't want to be confused with her then it probably best to change.
Why not give us more about you and we can try and think of alternatives

NO I really do not want the other poster to change her name at all, I am not bloody childish and I do not mind how many Trillians there are, no one owns a name.

I think if people are going to think I started this to get someone else to change their name then I shall just give up as that was not the intention at all

Im BabyDubsEverywhere, there is a BabiesEverywhere too, but short had she is Babies and I am BabyDubs which i think is different enough as anything with baby/ies in is going to sound simelar I think.

Plus she comes across as really nice...

....and I dont Grin
