Letting interfeerring people try to give me parenting advice when they see my ds howling ('invisable disability') because I look young and smiling and telling them he isn't being naughty it's just because 'x' and that I have a degree in early years and teach 45 4 year olds in my class. And watch them mumble something about ds being cute and shuffle off...

I probably am.... But I hate starers... Anyone else got any funny starer stories?

if it was a "personal attack" it would have named a person. hence the term "PERSONAL attack".

Its ok, if you don't think so, let them decide. You certainly made me feel like shit. Which isn't a nice thing to do.

Serenity788 · 06/03/2011 01:57

Btw Exeter that wasn't aimed at you. I did think what you said wasn't nice though

OP posts:
ExeterisEasy · 06/03/2011 01:57

yes it is offensive and i apologise, im angry and upset about my own situation at the moment and i used this as a vent. a lot of what i said had just been said to me and i reacted very poorly. i didn't mean any of it, or rather no offence by it, just being a stupid venting idiot. i will accept being reported. i was bang out of order.

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 06/03/2011 01:58

This is like the fucking Twilight Zone Grin

ExeterisEasy · 06/03/2011 02:01

nah i was a dick, sometimes its the only place for me i can spew and i chose the wrong time and it was the wrong "conversation" we just had. i should have calmed down first and not let his words influence mine.

BitOfFun · 06/03/2011 02:06

What's going on , Exeter? Why are you stressed out?

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 06/03/2011 02:07

Exeter

Are you sure it's this thread you meant to post on. Your comments were a bit off the wall for this one Confused

< please don't let this be a 3rd ID of the OP's >

ExeterisEasy · 06/03/2011 02:11

no i did mean to post here but then i just sort of lost the plot a little with the situation etc. and i said some horrid things that i do NOT mean it was just he had said those things to me and then stomped off to bed and i chose to vent in the wrong place.

confuddledDOTcom · 06/03/2011 02:11

I've been shocked at my daughter's school report, I typed it up to another forum because I was so shocked I had to share. The English was appalling! Also the same in her reading diary.

I do things like the OP too. My children were premature so I love the responses people get when they see my newborn and either me or her behaving differently. Mum and I take great pleasure in passing them between us without supporting their head! You can hear gasps as people see what we're doing. I've also sat my eldest on the counter at the GP's reception whilst I dug out her red book and watched the receptionist dive across to grab her.

It used to be funny when I was growing up, Mum was young looking for her age and I was quite grown up looking so we looked similar ages. You could tell people either thought we were sisters or lesbians. Our favourite was going into a police station for directions, I held her arm as we walked in and the police were sniggering. Mum and I swapped the "lesbians" look, so when the policeman finished showing us his map and we saw where we'd gone wrong I said rather loudly "Oh so that's where we went wrong, Mummy" (a little too old for Mummy but it got the point across I'm younger than you think I am!) The reaction from the police was funny, they all went red and stuttered at us as we left.

If people are going to be judgemental then they deserve to be embarrassed when the truth comes out.

ExeterisEasy · 06/03/2011 02:12

i guess i was putting the things he said to me on other people so i didn't feel so shitty :-( which is, of course, a shitty thing to do. and again, i apologise, i just went a bit nutty/stressed/crying ones eyes out/punching the walls etc.

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 06/03/2011 02:14

Exeter

That's okay, we all need to lash out now and then and venting on an internet forum is much better that striking out at the people around us.

Sorry you are having such a shitty time Sad

ExeterisEasy · 06/03/2011 02:17

nah i should not have been such a bitch. i wish i could be that bitch in person! i am very embarassed that i vented that here, i didn't mean to come across like such a cow. im not im just infuriated with my situation and blah blah blah.

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 06/03/2011 02:19

Don't be embarrased.

I've kicked off a number of times (on other forums) and vented my spleen.

To be honest, nobody remembers it a few days later because there's usually someone else doing it which takes the heat off you Grin

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 06/03/2011 02:21

< adds another 's' to embarrassed before anyone notices >

:)

ExeterisEasy · 06/03/2011 02:22

god i hope not. bizarre sometimes to read back what has been said to me and think, WTF! kick that tw@t out!

ShavingGodfreysPrivates · 06/03/2011 02:26

I don't know the background of what's going on in your life Exeter but I sincerely hope things improve. Never be afraid to vent - you can always name change and start again anyway!

Right, I had better shut down the computer and feck off to bed as it's later than I thought!

Bye for now :)

cashmeregoat · 06/03/2011 02:27

OP, I'm not sure why you enjoy saying that to people, I'm assuming strangers in the street when they comment on your child? Are you sure it doesn't just make you look like a bit of a fool?

What an excellent thread for a Sunday afternoon.

I can't be the only person who is imagining the OP with a sock puppet on each hand chatting with them can I?

NinkyNonker · 06/03/2011 07:39

Well OP, I wouldn't judge a tantrum but were you to give me that whole self satisfied, attention seeking diatribe I wouldn't be hugely impressed.

Anyway, it is possible to be an outstanding teacher and spell badly, but it is unusual. I wouldn't want a teacher who was instinctively a poor speller, how would they recognise all errors? Worrying.

There is a difference between a typo and a mistake, as has been pointed out.
