Errr I think we need her age? Lol

jmc112 · 05/03/2011 21:44

How old is she?

SwearyMary · 05/03/2011 21:45

Much depends on her age and where she will be wearing them. IMO they are not school shoes but might look nice with leggings and a pretty top. I don't go in for the grown up look on little girls.

tomhardyismydh · 05/03/2011 21:45

sorry sticky key board had typed but not shown

she is 5

A little girl in my son's yr 3 class had a pair of those the other day to complete her World Book day outfit. They looked beautiful, similar to those but black suede and tiny little diamontes on them Smile

AnnieLobeseder · 05/03/2011 21:47

It doesn't matter how old she is, they're AWFUL!!!! Sorry. But then I wear Crocs, so I know my opinion probably doesn't count for much.....

worraliberty · 05/03/2011 21:47

Perhaps not for school then if she's only 5 but otherwise I don't think they look too grown up, just cute and fashionable.

booneymooney · 05/03/2011 21:48

YANBU i nearly brought those last week for my dd but she chose pink leopard print ones instead. dd is also 5

sourdoughface · 05/03/2011 21:48

i dont like them at all, think they are ugly

but what do i know :)

tomhardyismydh · 05/03/2011 21:48

not for school, party shoe only.

OP posts:
Eglu · 05/03/2011 21:49

They are really ugly. I certainly wouldn't put them on a 5yo.

hidenseek · 05/03/2011 21:51

They do not look at all suitable for a five-year-old IMO. They look cheap and ugly.

DramaInPyjamas · 05/03/2011 21:52

I wouldn't buy them.
But then I don't like that style - either on little girls or on grown women.

supadupapupascupa · 05/03/2011 21:52

I don't like them at all, sorry

SwearyMary · 05/03/2011 21:53

5yrs old? Then yes, YABU. She is 5 for heavens sake. There are some very pretty pump type shoes around that are inexpensive.
My 12yr old would like them. I would make her beg and plead for them.
Little girls should look like little girls, not like little women.

nooka · 05/03/2011 21:55

Not my taste, but I don't think they are wildly inappropriate (I just don't understand the concept of the leg-warmery bit) and sympathise with the searching. I've tended to buy my children just the two shoes at a time really, and if they don't go, they don't go [mean mum emoticon]

LessNarkyPuffin · 05/03/2011 22:00

They're not inappropriate. Just fashionable. It's a style I personally don't like, but when I've linked to pumps on here before people have said they'd come off. This style at least won't have that problem.

BringOnTheGoat · 05/03/2011 22:01

YUCK - especially on a 5 yr old

tomhardyismydh · 05/03/2011 22:02

arrgh the response i was expecting. im really not keen on them, but they will do for the occasion.

i was looking for a pretty pump type shoe but couldnt find any. in convincing myself they look not too bad with black tights.

OP posts:
FabbyChic · 05/03/2011 22:02

To the poster who said cheap and ugly, that is because they are cheap and ugly.

Children should only wear leather shoes or their feet be fucked, those are plastic shite.

AnnieLobeseder · 05/03/2011 22:04

No Fabby, leather isn't essential, just decent, well-made shoes. Like Crocs!! And no, not the nasty original style. (can you tell I love Crocs?)

wellwisher · 05/03/2011 22:05

YABU because they are foul. Sorry.

What is "the occasion" for which you need them?

tomhardyismydh · 05/03/2011 22:05

her birthday party

OP posts:
BunnyLebowski · 05/03/2011 22:08

They are fahking gopping.

Cheap, ugly and nasty x 1 million.

Would send DD to a party in her bedroom slippers rather than in those abominations.

straightbat · 05/03/2011 22:09

I think its ok to have shit party shoes if she isn't going to wear them very often or for prolonged periods. I'm not fond of the style but there is no doubt that its fashionable and I don't believe that childrens fashion needs to be preserved in aspic. I had to wear tartan dresses with lace collars during the puffball phase of the '80s due to my mother's ideas about 'proper childrens clothes'.
