Shoes are fine. Hope yr Dr has lovely party.
Can't believe many of the comments here. Some people seem to go out of their way to be unreasonable on AIBU threads.

JojoLapin · 05/03/2011 23:13

Oh my eyes... I'm sorry, they are seriously ugly.

dexifehatz · 06/03/2011 00:56

What the fuck are you cunts on? They are not high heeled stripper shoes. They have a strap that keep them from falling off-great for younger years.Bunny-anyone who types 'fahking gopping'...well,I rest my case...

ChippingInMistressSteamMop · 06/03/2011 01:08

I can't believe how rude some of you are? It's quite possible to say you don't like them or don't think they are appropriate without being downright offensive about it.

Tom - they'll be lovely for her party and shopping etc after. She'll only be in them for a short while and it's not like you're proposing she wears them for school everyday - some people need a little perspective. They aren't a style I'm personally fond of but so what? She likes them, they go with her outfit and they don't have a heel - just fine for what you wanted them for!

fifi25 · 06/03/2011 01:17

fgs they are shoes maybe thats what she could afford. Loads of girls wear similar ones at my school. My 6 year olds got high heels. I wouldnt ask if its ok on here though bacause basically i couldnt really give a shit if random people think its wrong. She likes them and they make her happy.

cantspel · 06/03/2011 01:29

i dont like them but then i wear crocs and shock horror..... uggs so i clearly have no taste.
If you like them and your daughter likes them then buy them.

onceamai · 06/03/2011 07:18

I thought they were going to be horrendous. They aren't to my taste, but neither are they tarty or likely to cause any long term damage. If you and your daughter like them that's all that matters.

baskingseals · 06/03/2011 07:26

look like good dancing shoes to me

happy birthday dd and enjoy the party

timeforachangearooney · 06/03/2011 07:28

they are grand

a few over reactions here, but it is AIBU :)

i have 2 dd who aren't old enough to want to choose shoes yet, but i can't get past a display of disney princess tat in the same shop without comments, so you have my sympathy :)

i now shop online......

LIZS · 06/03/2011 07:37

Would n't be my choice tbh. We avoid the mini adult looks.

IWantToBeAFairyWhenIGrowUp · 06/03/2011 08:02

Not my taste - but they are fine for what you bought them for.

My 3yo DD is into sparkly stuff. If you have a Matalan near you they do nice occasional shoes

My DD had the silver ones for a disco and party she went to. I notice they have some cuff shoes as well.

Deaddei · 06/03/2011 09:37

Horrible.
I hate the mini me look for children- a simple ballet pump would be lovely.

tomhardyismydh · 06/03/2011 12:08

those are very cute Iwantobe...i tryed similar but the prob i had was finding a shoe to fit.

the shoes we have do actually look pretty, with the tiights on the thich cuff blens away and the little pleats stand out.

i clnt careless at the offensive remarks tbh, made me laugh. seems a well balanced for and against, so i know im not that ur...as i said they actualy would be my choice, but prob is i didnt have any choice of shoe that fitted.

anyway she looks adorable and im sure she will have a wonderfull party.

should read not my choice

I hate seeing little girls in ballet pumps who can't run around as they fall off all the time, a friend of mine's little one came to school on non-school uniform day and she was shuffling across the playground.

For party shoes, I buy cheap sparkly ballet pumps and sew elastic in a matching colour on them, a pain but at least then they can run around (and some styles have the elastic already, even better).

I don't love these, but I wouldn't feel offended by them, just not my/my daughters' personal style (and I wouldn't let them buy them).

fit2drop · 06/03/2011 12:58

you know from my previous post that I cannot see a problem and hope your DD has a lovely party . I am sure she will look adorable.

but what I dont understand is the comments about mini adult,,,,

I have just looked at the link again , please tell me what adult would wear shoes like that anyway. They seem more of a childs shoe to me, I know adults do wear them (mostly with a heel ) but the flat ones remind me of the tiny baby "first" shoes that babies had in the 60s and 70s with the little ankle strap to keep them on usually fastened with a little pearl button. The ones they went into after wearing those knitted bootees that grandmas would lovingly knitGrin

pranma · 06/03/2011 13:17

Oh look they are fine for a one off party better than little heels or plastic 'fairy shoes'.If they fit properly they are harmless for the occasion.OP isnt suggesting a country walk or a pre-prep interview :)

Getdressed · 06/03/2011 13:32

I'm not a fan of this type of shoe but I have 2DDs age 4 and 5 and know just how incredibly difficult it is to get a half decent pair of shoes. I am constantly on the search for some.
