Oooh...I KNOW I'm going to get told I am weird.

I was in Tesco and the young lad at the till was getting me some bags...he got thefirst off by SLOBBERING on his fingers and handing me the bag sopping wet...I actually FELT his spit on the bag...he went to get another and did the same....lickety-lick...spitty-spitty-slobbery-slurp

....so I said "Don't lick your fingers please, I can feel your saliva all over the bag."

He was like Shock

And so I got all British and said "It's nothing personal...I have OCD"

WHich I do....but still...surely this would be gross to a non OCD person!?

Was I BU?

A to tell him

B to get all Brit and apologetic about it.

Gross.

RevoltingPeasant · 05/03/2011 20:46

YANBU to say that.

YABU to think it is British to apologise, though, as surely the 'British' way would have been to say 'Hem, er, look, that's all right, I'll just take the bag myself, shall I', but so quietly he couldn't hear?

Wink

Its not nice.
But I think the OCD comment (unless you really do have it) was wrong the more people who 'mock' this condition the more it belittles genuine sufferers.

sourdoughface · 05/03/2011 20:54

i think the cashiers in tesco have to put up with lots of very odd people, he is probably used to it

Flisspaps · 05/03/2011 20:55

A YANBU.
B YABU

Nickschick - the OP says she does have OCD though, so is not belittling the condition.

SeeJaneKick · 05/03/2011 20:55

OP posts:
BringOnTheGoat · 05/03/2011 20:58

Apparently M&S checkout staff get into trouble if they're caught doing the spit thing. They have a little wet sponge for the purpose.
