to sneak down and use the breast u/s machine at work to peek at my bump ?

I work in a breast screening unit and the assessment clinic is closed this afternoon.

There is a breast ultrasound machine just sitting down there and I know how to use it......

I know it wont be as good or indeed as accurate but I have to wait till im nearly 23 weeks for my 20 week scan ( im 21+1) and frankly im impatient.

When i worked in hosp, the pg nurse on the gynae ward used to scan herself all the time.....it wouldnt bother me tbh

Really don't do it. I have a friend who did it and got into all kinds of shit from her boss for a start. And another who found something they didn't want to see. Unless you really know what you are looking at, trust me it is not a good idea. And breast US machines aren't set up in the right way for abdo US, unless of course you are a US radiographer or radiologist. In which case you definitely should know better.

Not really sure if it will have the power if the machine is just for breast imaging. If you are not a sonographer you will have trouble seeing anything and could in all possibility do something dangerous. This being said I have sneaked a peak at all my little 'beans' before the 12 week scan, but I have been trained in basic u/s and have a lot of experience of reading them. You are more likely to scare yourself and with digital imaging being so prevalent now you will probably confuse a Radiologist when he tries to work our what sort of breast tissue has bones in!

Hmmm I know they are set up differently. They arent designed to look through dense breast tissue let alone my fat stomach ! So my view would be limited.
I dont think my clinical director would mind.

our vet used the machine thats scans horses to see if they are in foal to scan herself a few times

If you are often paraniod get a fetal monitor, that's what I did.. I listened to the heart beat all the time.. calmed me too!
