My dd is 13wks old and I'm more or less back to my old size but my maternity jeans are just so comfy I don't want to go back to my normal jeans!!

I wear maternity jeans just because I've got a large stomach! You're right, they're very comfy.

TattyDevine · 04/03/2011 11:51

I wore my JoJoMamanBebe over the bump ones (they are like really high waisted jeans, so they are over the bump but not with a strechy jersey band, but the actual denim goes up and the button does up over the bump) after I'd given birth. I'd grown out of them by about 7 months pregnant, so they ended up being perfect for the "4th trimester" because they fitted round the legs like normal jeans but didn't give me a muffin top or cut in to my section scar Grin

I wore my for ages after. Back in "normal" jeans now as I passed my maternity wear on to a friend.

TarheelMama · 04/03/2011 19:41

Forgot to say YANBU

LaWeasel · 04/03/2011 19:44

I got given back some clothes I'd leant out a while ago and am having to sit on my hands to not dig out my elasticated jeans.

DD is nearly two.

But they were so ridiuclously comfy!

LadyOfTheManor · 04/03/2011 19:44

I sold mine on Ebay within 4 weeks of giving birth. I hated them. Then again I had a major problem with having a "bump" when pregnant so I guess I just didn't want to be reminded.

THankfully, they were also too large.

undercovamutha · 04/03/2011 19:46

YANBU - I LOVED my maternity work trousers. I still miss them....... Wore them from about 20 weeks pg with DC1, but had them on from about 10 weeks pg with DC2. Soooo comfy .

twinkytonk · 04/03/2011 20:10

I wore 1 pair of mine for 2 years after. They broke in the end but they were my most comfy pair of jeans.

summerinthesunshine · 04/03/2011 20:14

I never wore any maternity clothes from the minute I had any of my babies, bought a bunch of bigger stuff in primark for the early days and was generally back in normal clothes pretty quickly. Hated maternity clothes even when pregnant so there was no chance of ever wearing them afterwards.

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 04/03/2011 21:59

I think I must be on my own here, but I really do miss the high waist jeans of the 80's... so er chic... Blush

piratecat · 04/03/2011 22:01

i was still in mine after a year! becuase i had a belly.

tbh when i see them in shops they do look comfy, and on the hanger look normal to me, as i can imagine my still flabby tum would nestle quite well in them!

YankNCock · 04/03/2011 22:07

I still think about my maternity jeans.

I sold them on ebay because I swore the next time I was pregnant I wouldn't be starting out as overweight as I was then.

But I miss those jeans, they were fab, comfy over the bump from Old Navy in the U.S.

What if the next time I get pregnant I never find a pair as good as those?

(these are the thoughts that keep me up at night)

Fernie3 · 04/03/2011 22:09

I still wear my early pregnancy ones ( not the full panel ones the little elasticy bit ones). they actually make me look slimmer for some reason. Plus i can lounge around feeling comfy.

PigValentine · 04/03/2011 22:22

YANBU. But if you want to feel that you're not technically in maternity gear, Primark sell jeans with an soft panel elasticated waist - like soft waisted baby / toddler jeans. As my DH helpfully pointed out when I considered buying them

Lying Topshop do a really nice flattering pair of high waisted skinny jeans - the style is called Kristen or Kirsten; they are the only jeans I can wear after Ds2 (who is, ahem, 16 months) and all I intend to wear after a horrifying experience in the Levi's shop.

MrsLevinson · 04/03/2011 23:13

I wear my old jeans, but undone with a bump band over the top. It's so comfy, I feel like I've got the best of both worlds. I'm in no rush to lose the bump band. :)

LyingWitchInTheWardrobe2726 · 04/03/2011 23:56

Thank you, PigValentine... I'm off for a ganderat them. :)

budgieshell · 05/03/2011 00:05

Mine are now called my chritmas pants....easter pants......trapped wind pants......what the hell I'm too old for skinny jeans pants.

Works for me.
