...or how expensive diesel is or our Ocado order is we live in the absolute place of luxury compared to living in a slum in Kenya and have absolutely nothing to complain about in comparison.

Feel so humbled.

I went to India and China 10 years ago and even since then I have been thankful that I have taps that give me clean drinking water. Sounds a bit wanky I know, but I know I'm better off than the vast majority of the people in this world.

Still hate the Condems and the cuts though and will speak up against them.

YANBU to be moved by the Comic Relief programme, it's desperate in Kibera, and of course we should be grateful for all we have, I am always telling my son this.
YABVU to say we have absolutely nothing to complain about regarding the cuts. Yes, if Diesel for Ocado is the only issue you're facing, then of course there is nothing to whine about- but if you're a carer for a disabled child at the moment, being told to suck it all up because you could be in a slum in Africa is hardly remotely helpful is it?

rinabean · 03/03/2011 21:43

I see what you mean, but I don't think we should be complacent and let the government take from us. We are lucky to live the way we do, so we should fight to hold onto it for ourselves and for others to enjoy the same good standard of living.

fairtradefloozy · 03/03/2011 22:18

I should say I detest cuts (currently reapplying for my own job etc etc - doing, guess what? recruiting carers for disabled children), Condems, cuts to essential services, child abuse, domestic violence, living below the poverty line, unemployment etc etc etc etc.

Its all in context of course. As you can tell, somewhat overcome by it all Sad Angry Confused Shock
