To think that jeggings are jeans and as such should be included in the 30% off offer at mamas and papas?

Sorry this is rather trivial but I am fuming about it, actually more so at the shop manager who just told me "well that's what's automatically loaded in the till so if they are full price we can't do anything"

Meanwhile every single other pair of jeans in the shop is 30% off and the jeggings were also on a rack with a massive sign on it saying 30% off all jeans (as was the denim skirt I liked but that's another story).

Argghhh. I can't find any nice maternity skinny jeans anywhere else but the attitude in that shop just completely rubs me up the wrong way.

Anyway, rant over. Just went to check if it is the same pricing online and it is.

I personally don´t think that jeggings are jeans.

Jeans have a button & zip imo.

Jeggings are jeans look leggings.

Jeggings are not acceptable on anyone. But they are really not acceptable on pregnant women.

And YABU, they are hideuos leggings and not denim

FooffyShmoofffer · 03/03/2011 16:30

Jeggings are the devil's work but...

with regard to your question they are leggings not jeans.

NinkyNonker · 03/03/2011 16:41

Gap did good maternity skinny jeans last year.

mayorquimby · 03/03/2011 16:44

thefurryone · 03/03/2011 16:53

YABU jeggings should be banned even the word just makes me shudder.

GretchenWiener · 03/03/2011 16:53

god is mumsne tthe home of dried up prunes

jeggings are ace

i think they are jeans

bethpiper · 03/03/2011 16:55

They're better than jeans, that's why they're still full price :(

mayorquimby · 03/03/2011 16:58

I'm not an old prude, I just think jeggings are the worst looking item of clothing on women going. Can't stand them.
Also surely to be jeans they'd have to be made out of denim.

bupcakesandcunting · 03/03/2011 16:59

Jeggings are brilliant!

But not jeans so YABU.

sparkle12mar08 · 03/03/2011 17:45

If they were jeans they'd be called, um... jeans.

PfftTheMagicDragon · 03/03/2011 17:50

Depends what type of jeggings they are.

Proper jeggings are made of denim, but stretch a lot. These should be included as they are made of denim, and therefore jeans.

Shitty jeggings (though saying this, all jeggings are shitty and should be burned) are simply polyester/cotton leggings that look denimy, and should not be in the sale.

brizzagirl · 03/03/2011 20:21

Lol thanks for all the comments on my fashion choices!
I would not really have called these ones jeggings as they are proper denim and just look like skinny jeans to me, they are not the really skintight ones IYSWIM. Anyway I have never seen pregnancy jeans that have a zip and button as they all have elastic stuff instead of a waistband.

I don't think they look too horrible as I would always wear them with boots and a long top.

And as they are stretchy denim back to my original point that's why I thought they should have 30% off!

Be glad you didn't buy them, the arse looks all saggy - and that's on the promotional photo, where they try to make them look their best.

Mandy2003 · 03/03/2011 22:15

I've never tried M&P maternity, but IME all maternity clothing designers seem to think that your butt expands at the same rate as your bump!

All my life I've been a size 14 but when pg I've always ended up buying size 10 maternity trousers & jeans. Go figure!

bonkers20 · 03/03/2011 22:32

They DO look like skinny jeans to me TBH ie the stitching isn't just printed on. I would go back and have a total hormonal breakdown!
I think they're nice. God they do look like they have a massive bum on them though!

I got my jeans from H&M.

If you really want jeggings then just get some regular ones from New Look or something and wear under your bump.

gemmalou123 · 03/03/2011 22:43

Dorothy perkins do fab maternity jeans, mine have seen me through 2 kids and still wear them when i cba to wash normal jeans lol
