My tumble dryer broke down in December, we worked out what the problem was and ordered the part on-line but because of the Christmas postal problems we didn't get it for two weeks, on Christmas Eve. Grin
My dishwasher broke down the week before Christmas, man came to fix it and said he couldn't get part until after Christmas, we watched him order it on his laptop.
Christmas came and went and after a couple of weeks we tried to contact him despite leaving numerous messages he never got back to us and eventually we called someone else out who said it wasn't worth fixing, get a new one which we did.

Argos came to deliver new dishwasher but we were unable to disconnect the old one so both were left in the middle of the kitchen, we had to get plumbers in to disconnect the old one (which is now outside the back door) and had to install the new one ourselves.
During the coldest week in January the boiler stopped working,it was freezing!
We have a maintenance agreement with British Gas who said it needed a part and they couldn't get it until the 10th of Feb, over 2 weeks away. on the 10th of Feb they phoned to say that they couldn't get the part and quoted me an astronomical figure for a new one. Angry
Needless to say, I got another firm in and arranged for a new boiler to be fitted yesterday. The night before the plumbing for the dishwasher & washing machine came loose and we had a flood in the kitchen.
It was a big job getting the boiler fitted and they had to call an electrician out after cutting through a cable but we are now the proud owners of a new boiler. Grin
But, when I went to cook dinner the electric oven was dead and when DH went to plug the dishwasher back in the extension cable blew up leaving DH with black hands and a shocked face.
I'm afraid to say I've cried and shouted at DH who has been most sanctimonious telling me "as least nobody's died".Angry

I know he's right but IABU to have had enough?

Oh poor you! You were NOT being unreasonable. After such a run of bad luck I think I'd have taken to my bed never to surface again! It's not fair that you took it out on your DH but life isn't fair, and its better that we use our DH's to vent our frustrations than anybody else.

Oh YANBU to be annoyed - that is a whole lot of things going wrong and adding to your workload and causing inconvenience

YOu are running too many appliances in an extension cable.

YOu have had a terrible time but rather than have a go at your DH you should have been concerned for me, nobody did die. Yes it's been hard but you still breathe. All your problems also seem to have been resolved.

It's easy to disconnect a dishwasher not sure why you couldn't do it to be honest.

FabbyChic · 03/03/2011 12:17

Thats concerned for him! Not me!

Maryz I have definately considered leaving! The above was only a precis, I didn't tell you about the leak in the bath which means we're having to empty the bath with a bucket.

FabbyChic I do feel very ashamed that my first response to DH's elctrocution was "oh don't tell me we've no dishwasher again?" rather than "Thank God you're OK darling!" Blush

Not sure why you can't run two appliances off an extension cable though? Hmm The electricians seemed OK with it, they said the problem was related to the previous night's flood.
It took two plumbers 20 mins to disconnect the dishwasher Fabby, you are clearly much more skilled than me, or them.
