Ordered a tiara off a website for my wedding which I returned and they signed for it on 17th feb. When I emailed to say I was returning they said they would refund within 30 days. Have justemailed to ask when I'm getting my refund and they've just said within 30 days. Aibu to think that's not goodenough? They've had the item back and now are just withding my money. Pls tell me if bu as have had a bad day and am snarky but bit pissed at this. Thanks

I'd leave it until 30 days from 17th Feb - if you've not had it back by then contact them again.

MadreInglese · 28/02/2011 17:02

I would interpret that as within 30 days from when they received the item back

YABU. They told you it would be refunded within 30 days, and it's only 11 days since they received the return.

WincyEtNightie · 28/02/2011 17:06

Yes, I'd also assume that they mean within 30 days from when they received the item back. Which is annoying - but within their rights AFAIK.

You may well get it back sooner. Smile

If their terms and conditions say they'll refund within 30 days then that's what will happen. Most high street shops that are willing to do refunds now have 28 days to refund your money, just like you have 28 days to return. Unfortunately they aren't going to do it on day 2 or 3 if they can hold it for that long and make some interest.

If you haven't had a refund by day 30 then yes you can take it further. They may have a huge backlog of things to deal with and so it may take them anywhere up to 30 days to log on their system that your product has been returned.
