....load of unsubtle, puerile, risible nonsense I have ever ahd the misfortune to sit through?

OP posts:
GetOrfMoiLand · 26/02/2011 23:04

My aunty said it was like Showgirls, but without the humour. She said it was a load of overblown nonsense.

SueWhite · 26/02/2011 23:07

Agree. It was massively melodramatic. Me and my mate got hysterics during the most 'dramatic' moment where she completely breaks down.

rookiemater · 26/02/2011 23:08

I was hoping it would be like Showgirls, I loved Showgirls, but it was a load of twaddle

BellaMagnificat · 26/02/2011 23:08

Just googled it 'unsubtle adolescent sub-ponography' one reviewer called it. I agree.

OP posts:
hellymelly · 26/02/2011 23:10

the trailer is so appalling (that mad face careering towards the camera with big staring eyes...)that I can only assume the film is crap.

poorbuthappy · 26/02/2011 23:10

I have no idea what "unsubtle adolescent sub-pornography" means so i guess that means I can't watch it!
Thank fuck for that Grin

nancydrewfoundaclue · 26/02/2011 23:25

YANBU

God it was bad.

Really, really bad.

I will never get that time back.

minxofmancunia · 26/02/2011 23:35

YANBU, I just felt the whole rigmarole was very melo dramatic and a bit silly.

MmeLindt · 26/02/2011 23:37

My mother was most disappointed.

She went with one of her line dancing pals as they "thought it would be about dancing".

They were expecting something like Billy Elliot, I think.

Mum was most embarrassed by the lesbian love scene too. It was "awfully graphic".

Numberfour · 27/02/2011 00:06

Glad I have not wasted time and money seeing it then! I will wait til it is on telly!

stoatsrevenge · 27/02/2011 00:52

'Twas awful.
Really awful.
If I ever see another set of arms flapping up and down, I'll scream. Did she die at the end? Dunno. Who cares?
Awful.

So.... went to see True Grit on Wednesday.
'Twas awful.
Really awful....

BibiBlocksberg · 27/02/2011 01:00

Absolute pile of steaming crap!!! Just as well i saw it on tightarse saver Tuesday otherwise I'd have been even more annoyed.

That bit where her legs go in a swan-like fashion to name just one bit of bilge.....

And the mother, urrrgh, and the lechey teacher........ Angry

So glad I'm not the only one who thought it was truly crap!! N

Tortington · 27/02/2011 01:02

yesyes

total shite

kittycat37 · 27/02/2011 01:04

Me and DH were laughing our heads off during Black Swan

The most awful film I've seen for years, so bad it's sort of good (unintentionally hilarious)

I don't care how slim and pretty Natalie Portman is, she still looked like a total heffalump when she was pretending to do ballet.

And as for the lesbo/ wank scene soft porn bits - it was totally cringe inducing, like being inside the head of a sweaty spotty teenage boy....

I CANNOT believe it's up for any Oscars FFS

sharbie · 27/02/2011 01:07

i haven't seen it but all the clips i have seen just show her dancing from the waist up - what's the point of watching someone dance if you can't see their feet?

it is due to win oscar for best picture - or the social network which i got on dvd the other day.don't bother.really.

BibiBlocksberg · 27/02/2011 01:19

An OSCAR????? Dear god no!!!! If that pile of poop takes any oscars away from my new favourite of all time film the kings speech i will NOT be happy!!!!

steps101 · 27/02/2011 02:10

"just loads of unnecessary crotch shots and natalie portman growing feathers" - my sister.

clangermum · 27/02/2011 10:27

taking it off my love film list now....

also saw social network on dvd recently...it was a bit odd, possibly the most un-cinematic film i've ever seen, in that I'd have been really disappointed to see it on a big screen. I was interested in the story, which was why I got the film, but if anything the way they told it made it less interesting

looking forward to the king's speech

sharbie · 27/02/2011 12:50

yh much more like a tv drama clanger v so so - after about 45 mins i realised i didn't really care anymore

sharbie · 27/02/2011 12:51

ds 16 has seen k speech and enjoyed it

Ooopsadaisy · 27/02/2011 12:54

It was quite bad.

It was like a pornographic Scooby-Doo.

Yes, we know she's not really dead and you stabbed yourself. We are not stupid. One minute there's a body, then, when you look again, it's gone .... OMG .....

Scooby, Dooby, Doo

Where are you?

sue52 · 27/02/2011 12:57

YANBU. Why didn't she just move out of her deranged Mother's house? Also the mother's forehead showed not one ounce of emotion and did not match her neck, most strange.

Bloodymary · 27/02/2011 12:58

MmeLindt Oh dear, your poor Mum. Grin

LaurieFairyCake · 27/02/2011 13:02

I thought it was brilliant - so did dh.

extremely clever film about descent into madness/repressed sexuality/controlling parent, very well acted.

Loved it, best film this year.

NettoSuperstar · 27/02/2011 13:08

It was shit, and NP just looked terrified the whole time.
Not Oscar Worthy.
I have The King's Speech to watch later, if I can tear myself away from The Tudors, and I've seen Winter's Bone and enjoyed it.
