When Rolfy baby did his tv show about the vets he said the best way to kill a fly was to do a loud clap near it as it is flying about,the sound wave from your hands will stun it and it will drop to the ground then it can be squished
Today I had a pesky bugger flying round so I put his plan into action. The outcome of this is I have sore hands from running round clapping and the fly eventually flew out by itself

My nana used to clap and kill/stun bluebottles.... although they may have been asphyxiated from the cloud of talc that arose when she did it rather than the actual clap itself...
