. . to say he is not coming down tonight as per planned from his week at work 80 miles away. He did say yesterday that he would be down tonight instead of tomorrow and work from home Friday. (He normally is away Mon - Fri .) Then at 5.35pm he called to say he was not coming back tonight afterall.

Tbh i feel a bit let down. Good job I didnt bother to cook anything for supper ! I know work takes priority, . . . . . . . . .but really !! Angry

There's an awful lot of threads on here tonight that sound just like my life.

My dp works away as well and every so often he'll say he'll be home a day early, I'll get all excited about it then some last minute meeting comes up or something.

YANBU.

Couldn't he come home for the evening and go back in the morning? It's not that far.

squeakytoy · 24/02/2011 19:43

80 miles is a fair drive after a days work and back again the next day.. I wouldnt want to do it..

maltesers · 24/02/2011 20:06

Yes, I agree its too far.
Its work work and more work this week. . .but thats good i guess !

But now its 8.05 and he is probably snoring his head off on his bed. . .with no thought to phone.... Hmm

Actually, he's probably having a wank while his Pot Noodle cools down.

I assume I speak for all men away on business on their own?

80 miles isn't that far.

squeakytoy · 24/02/2011 20:30

It is if part of that is in roadworks, rush hour traffic, and you are already tired after a days work.. that is when the most accidents happen. Plus an 80 mile journey back again the next morning, in the dark.. then another 80 miles home again that night.. its not great.

maltesers · 27/02/2011 17:41

well it all cooled down when he told me he was leaving work after lunch on Friday and appeared at around 3.30pm Fri. . .and we have had a really nice weekend.. . .with two meals out, Ds at his Dads and even some rumpy pumpy !!
