Glitter! It's fucking everywhere! House is covered, kids are covered, dog is covered, but worse, just went to toilet, looked down-looks like I've been vajazzled! Blush

I would guess the washing basket was in the glitter fall-out zone.

Why, fangbanger, what did you think happened.....

cocoachannel · 24/02/2011 18:13

YANBU. Was my husband's birthday on Sunday and MIL wrapped his present in glittery paper (unreasonable in itself IMO given he's a 30 yo man!). She thought it was hilarious that we'd be, "hoovering it up for days"! Particularly nice given I am expecting her first grandchild any day, and don't expect hoovering to be top of the agenda in the next few weeks!

nikki1978 · 24/02/2011 18:15

Glitter is pure evil. Never let it cross the threshold of your home again. My mum bought some round a few months ago when she was looking after the kids. It takes years to remove it all I swear!

InspirationalBreadbin · 24/02/2011 18:17

Oh yes. Hate it. I got one of thos glitter Lush balls for my birthday one year. Glitter everywhere, I mean everywhere. And I couldn't shift it off my face and ended up gong to work with it still on.

googoomama · 24/02/2011 19:11

This has made me giggle. Thank you. I need a giggle today :)

MrsSnaplegs · 24/02/2011 19:22

Gleekfreak do you live in my house Grin I left dd and her friend to do unsupervised sticking and glueing as I was having a bad day - tomorrow will be worse as I now have to try and clear up the carnage Grin

DaffadownDilly · 24/02/2011 19:26

I know, DS partook in his cousin's craft session when he was younger and did glittery shits for about a week after. Most amusing.

Tillyscoutsmum · 24/02/2011 19:30

It is the devil's own dust. I left dd and dsd glittering and playing with temporary tattoos. I now have a glittery butterfly tattoo'd into my tablecloth Hmm

thefirstMrsDeVere · 24/02/2011 19:31

I love glitter! I am secretly pleased when it gets all over the place at Christmas. I LOVE edible glitter, I would put it on everything if I could get away with it.

TattyDevine · 24/02/2011 19:33

I dont do magic fairy dust.

I'll do the edible type on a cake. Nothing like a sparkly skid mark.

That makes it worthwhile.

Gleekfreak · 24/02/2011 19:40

How do I get it off my foo foo though? Have rubbed but it keeps moving around! Blush

Can I tell you something? You can all laugh up your sleeves but not out loud please Smile

My DD died nearly 5 years ago (in april). A year to the week after her death I found out I was pregnant with DS3. I had a very difficult pregnancy (emotional, not physical). DS3 was born at home. From the day he was born for at least a year I used to find single bit of glitter in his hair. Different colours, different places every other day or so. It was weird.

For all my talk about loving glitter I honestly didnt know where this was coming from. I dont have glittery clothes or make up (DD my only girl so its not all round the place).

So my 'logical' conclusion? My lovely DD sending it to her little bro:

I know it sounds stupid but it helped, just a bit.

Blush

I remember reading somewhere that "glitter is the herpes of the craftbox"

Oh, how true.

Gleekfreak · 24/02/2011 19:55

That's lovely MrsD and a really good way to love the glitter:)

I love glitter. It does look good in babies' hair, too.

lovely story, MrsDeVere.

thefirstMrsDeVere · 24/02/2011 20:05

Phew, thought that was a bit too 'hun' for MN Grin

DaffadownDilly · 24/02/2011 20:33

That's lovely MrsD, I feel the same way about feathers Smile

Blatherskite · 24/02/2011 20:37

That's a lovely story MrsDeVere. I'll never look at a random bit of glitter in quite the same way now.

Oh look! You've made me go all soppy Blush

notnowbernard · 24/02/2011 20:41

It's on the Banned Items list in our house

notnowbernard · 24/02/2011 20:42
