All the Betty Crocker mixes have turned out pretty well for me except the carrot cake which mings.

this was devils food cake - I folowed the instructions to the letter. It is not horrible - certainly edibe - but I had this secret dread that it would turn out to be nicer than a from scratch one (am no great cake maker so it wouldn't be hard to be nicer than one of mine Grin) but it wasn't.

Oooh I love the Betty Crocker chocolate one - lovely and moist. Homemade cake always tastes really eggy to me

Samay me too :)

I always use them for the kids' birthday cakes as I need reliable moist firm sponge for cutting into whichever weird shape they've chosen that year and decorating. Really good recipes using the cake mixes on the betty crocker website.

People think I'm really good at kids' birthday cakes (ha ha ha) :o

YYY I love the Betty Crocker Devils Food cake. ....and I am a good baker and bake my cakes from scratch normally. It's my only cheat.

Ooh I have a box of betty crocker devil's food cake mix in the cupboard, DS and i are going to use it this weekend. Last week we made the Chocolate Swirl Betty Crocker cake, it was super-moist too. My sister didnt believe that we'd baked it ourselves and thought it was from a cake shop! They were one-third off in sainsburys last week so we stocked up.
