in being secretly a little bit releived that DS2's newest best friend from school hasn't turned up to the party?

He's very grown-up compared to DS2. Likes music, has an expensive phone, wears trendy clothes. Not much in common with DS2 really Confused. But he didn't turn up to the party.

DS and his other mates are tearing round the house on a dinosaur hunt (along with DD and her mate) and playing with his playmobil. There is of course a chance that best friend would have fitted right in but I don't think so - I think the atmosphere would have changed. As it is I have a houseful of happy, noisy, unsophisticated little boys who say 'Yay!' to everything I suggest and think this is the best party ever Grin

You can hold a party and mumsnet at the same time?

What are you? Superwoman?

Nah! Just a very slack mother Grin I have also been dialled into work to fix problems.

It's more of a biiiig playdate atm but we're off to the dreaded MaccyD's soon and then having a treasure hunt in the fields. And then a DVD and popcorn and then a pinata and then tea!

They'll be stuffed by the end of the day Grin

Seems a bit odd for a child that age to have a mobile phone for a start.

Glad your kids are having a great time. Grin

He might have surprised you.

PErhaps the reason he is like that is because of his parents and any older siblings, but actually would enjoy just being a kid for a change!

They have just gone.

I am knackered!

Bugger me they could make a noise! And eat! Shock

But DS had the best day Smile

That sounds like the most fantastic party...and I suspect if new-best-friend was into it he would have come - so best result all round.

It was good. Cake was crap though. Couldn't taste it as I'm on a diet but none of the kids finished there's Grin

Damn it! One of them has come back. DS wanted him to stay the night and becaue it as his b'day we said DH would ask mum when we took them all home. Expecting she would say no, too short notice. She didn't Hmm
