dd (5) has spent most of her evening getting out of bed telling us that she is too hot/cold/thirsty/hungry/not tired/she itches/needs the toilet etc etc and she can't sleep. we have spent most of our evening telling her to get back into bed and if she lies still and quiet with her eyes closed for long enough that she WILL be able to get to sleep.

she finlly went to sleep at some point in the last half hour after she got bored of getting out of bed, so....aibu to wake her up and say 'see, i told you so! you lay still and stopped talking and you went to sleep, see, see'

I have very often had the same thought myself. Only the sheer horror of dealing with the hellcat that arises when DD is woken unexpectedly has stopped me.

Save it for the morning for some Tuesday wind up the child fun! Grin

MissyKLo · 21/02/2011 23:22

Aghh! It just gets worse then! Gah!

goplayout · 21/02/2011 23:22

Have a look on profile this is Ds 7years with his sister after adamantly insisting at 4am one morning he couldn't get back to sleep at all so there would be no point lying on bed being quiet Grin

Honeydragon · 22/02/2011 00:21

I showed him the evidence when he woke up

MrsRhettButler · 22/02/2011 00:22

I don't blame you, one of the best things about having dcs is the ability to bosom block whilst saying "I told you so, didn't I tell you so?" and actually getting a contrite response. Once they get older or you are married to them all you get is Hmm

Honeydragon · 22/02/2011 00:30

Bosom hoick

Damn autocorrect!

MrsRhettButler · 22/02/2011 00:31

i did wonder what bosom block meant Grin

but yes its true, i love being right just because i am! i am mummy and mummy is always right because she just IS!
